Which is Better to Try for A&E?

We arrive on a Sunday and would like to try for the impossible A&E FP for my DD for the Thursday. My FP Plans are:

DD and Myself

1. A&E
2. Big Thunder Mountain
3. Peter Pan

DS and DH

1. Splash Mountain
2. Big Thunder Mountain
3. Peter Pan

Is it better to just book FP for all four of us for DD and my list, and then go in after and change DS and DH A&E to Splash Mountain?

Or is it better to start with just booking DD and myself. And then after, go in and book the three FP for DS and DH. I'm thinking we need to book all four of us at once since we want Big Thunder and Peter Pan all together at the same time. But at the same time, the fewer you're asking for, for A&E the better.

Suggestions?

If you only need the 2 FPs for you and DD for A&E, I'd start there. It makes sense that 2 FPs would be easier than four. If you are trying for 4, MDE may tell you there is no availability.

Then how would I coordinated the other two rides to be the same FP times?

You can just copy the FP from either you or your DD to your son and husband. If there is no more availability for A&E it will put in a random attraction (which doesn't matter because you don't NEED A&E for them). Then you can go back and change that one attraction.

We are a family of 5, myself, DH, DS12, DS10 and DD. Wish I had known exactly what to do when booking for the coveted FP. I'll spare you all the details and tell you what I eventually did to get it right. I booked DH and DSs 3 FPs together, Mine Train, Tales with Belle and Speedway. I then went into DD and booked her FPs for Mine Train, Tales with Belle and a throw away M&G to Cinderella because it was the only one available. I then did myself separately with the same FPs as DD. I would constantly go in to modify my FPs to search for A&E. It took me over a week, but I eventually found one, added it to my FPs, changing out Cinderella, and then copied my FPs to DD. The only thing that happened is I had to change our Mine Train time. Now I'm constantly checking to find an overlapping time for it. Called Disney and they said at this point to go into Guest Relations and see what they can do about all of us going in together. Good luck!

Not exactly sure what you mean. Do I first select the 3 FP for DD and myself (assuming we get A&E)? And then there is a copy option somewhere to add the two same FP for DS and DH?

Or maybe I am better to first put all of us with DS and DH selections, and then try to move DD and myself to get A&E?

If A&E is available it will copy all three of your FP and you'll have the same, or nearly the same times. If it isn't, it will substitute something else for that one. It isn't important. Thank you so much for explaining. So I will start with DD and my FP and try to book all 3 including A&E (I'll be ready for midnight!). Then use copy to get the same times for DH and DS. I assume it is obvious where to find the 'copy' option?

You're welcome. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact steps and what I clicked on but I figured it out pretty easily when I did it. Maybe someone will come along who can tell you the step by step specifics...hopefully. I think since everyone on my reservation has the same selections now I no longer have that "copy" option available, so I can't run through it. It definitely was an option before. I made A&E FP+ for two family members, along with 7DMT and Space Mt. Then when I went back (either clicked FastPass+ at the bottom of the Disney site, or My Itinerary, one or the other) and then I think "New FP+" the option to copy came up.

Hmm..I would definitely be using the website (actually I can't even get the app on my phone). Thanks for the warning.
Guess I'll start by booking for 2. I believe I'll see on one of the first screens if A&E is available. So if I have some luck and it is, I will continue booking for DD and myself. Will try for the copy for DS and DH and if not then will just hope for getting times to match. And...if no A&E rigth away, then will start again and just get all 3 selections the same from the start.
