Sad to admit but I have never been to either and next month we are going to try and hit one of these water parks for the day....which one has better amenities for the younger set?

neither, but if you had to choose typoon lagoon is a little, less rough. Theres an old swim hole one, i dont remember what its called but it is nice for little ones. :flower:

Why would you say neither? I am pretty sure at least one has a children's play area....

I have never been to TL, but when my children were 4 yrs old (they are now 13), we went to BB and they have a great area for the little ones. It is called Tike's Peak, it has some small slides, that we did with them, and areas with fountains and pop jets for them to splash around in.

I've done the kids play area at TL and it is really neat. It has a small innertube creek, some sand, some bubble areas, some slides and some shade.

The old swimming hole one was River Country and it has been gone for some time.

My two cents on the subject...I liked the area at Blizzard Beach better because it was pretty much all in view from the seating area. Depending on the ages of your kids, if you let them play while you are just watching them, the Blizzard Beach area was better. At TL, the kids area was very pretty but also very spread out and there was no place to just sit while they played and still be able to keep them in view. TL had lots of twists and turns where your little ones could easily be out of your sight. SO unless you plan on following them around and sticking right by their sides, I would tell you BB is better.

Boy, as I read this I sound like one lazy mom!!! But I know that there are others out there that like to stretch out on the lounge chair while the kids splash around, right?! But I am very lucky that I have older kids that love to play with my little one, so as long as I can see them at all times, then I am comfortable letting them splash around with me not right on top of them. It seemed every time at TL that I would get settled in a nice shady spot, they would want to move around the corner! Oh well! They are both very nice areas and your kids will enjoy either one.

You don't sound lazy at all Princess Dot. Your information was wonderful. I have been to both water parks but I didn't remember whether they were worth the money for toddlers since I was enjoying them before kids and didn't check out the kiddie areas. Your info was very valuable to me because I do care about "hidden" areas and being able to see my children at all times, especially when they are both mobile now and heading in different directions. :wave2:

Actually I have been to both with a young tolder (2 years old) and while they both are good, BB is better. TL is much more rough and in water in your face, but still fun. IMO TL is better for older kids (5 and up) while BB was really good for younger children (babies and tolders.) Besides Tikes Peak, the wave pool is much less intense and you take hold a child in it to boop in the waves. You can take a child on the lazy river on both, but we warned about the places that drip cold water on you and avoid them!!! Babies wouldn't like that. Life jackets are avilable.

BB is my DD favorite, but she liked TL too! There is this area on the top of Pikes Peak that has 4 little slides going off it that you can hold your child on your lap if needed, or they can do it themsevles. My DD must of done those slides 100 times, I did them 50 with her until she was more comfortable. Also there is a racing slide you can hold the child on your lap and doesn't touch down in deep water.

How old are the children (or child) and do they mind water splashed in their face or deep water? My DD doesn't like being slpashd in the face so she enjoyed BB much more, also she wanted us to take her on the slides until she was more comfortable, there isn't any you can do this on at TL. The ones there HURT when you hit the bottom!

We didn't go last trip because it was too cold, and the next trip we are going to Vero Beach so we don't plan on it, but might if it is what we feel like doing! BB and TL really are alot of fun, for all ages!
