Wasnt going to go to DTD. But thinking now if I have the time, I might want to fit it in. Which is better in your opinion and why? An evening/night at Downtown Disney or an early morning?

I SO much prefer DTD in the morning for a variety of reasons but the main one is the lack of crowds allow for easier parking, easier getting around the shopping areas, easier checking out, less noise and craziness especially in World of Disney. I can't think of any reason it is better to go at night except that if you are needing to be at a park it is better to be there early than go late.

A sunny weekday morning (midmorning is when they open) is the best time to go.

I second that :thumbsup2

Last time I was down there I had to kill a few hours in the morning and decided to go to DD. The first 90 minutes were awesome -- it was so empty and easy to shop and look around and take pictures. By 11:30am, it was starting to get quite crowded.

I'd also say it's a very different feel at night -- lots more teens and young adults hanging out.

I would also say morning! I hate being in the stores in the afternoon evening when it is super crowded. It is usually very peaceful in the morning.

on what you are looking for. If it is shopping then the PPs are right. The stores are much less crowded. We do this on our departure day to get last minute items.

I think the evening has more energy and entertainment. We usually spend some time in the evening there during our stay. It's mainly dinner and walking around.

I like Downtown Disney both early morning and evening. Morning (early) is better for shopping if thats what your interested in, and the evening is great for a nice stroll along the water, or dinner. But weekends are much more crowded, so i prefer to go during the week if possible.

If you only want to shop, and thats it - go in the morning. My favorite time is the night. Everything is alive... Beautiful lights, street performers, high energy, drinks, and Cirq

I've never been in the morning, but we loved spending an evening in DTD on our last trip. We shopped a little, had ice cream at Ghiradelli and people watched! I really liked the energetic, busy atmostphere.

just feels more fun. With the lights and the hustle and bustle. We always plan to go at night

It depends on your park schedule. If you want to ride more rides, you'll want to be in the parks early in the morning. If you want to see fireworks, then go to DTD in the morning so that the evening is free.

I prefer mornings b/c it is practically deserted. There are absolutely no crowds. The best part of the morning is that you can go to Wolfgang Puck's and eat the most incredible breakfast pizza in the world.

The evenings are fun, but busy. I get enough of the crowds in the parks, so I don't want to spend that time DTD.

We have been in the morning in the afternoon and in the evening. As others have said if shopping is number one on your list morning is best. If you want atmosphere and shopping evening is best. Afternoon is way to hot.

Everyone should try to see La Nouba once....

I have only been in the morning once... It has been our tradition over the past five years to go on the evening of our Orlando arrival. Traffic is not an issue for us as we always stay on-site and take the bus. I personally love the energy and all of the lights at night.

I love DTD but I'm not sure I can choose which time is best...

In the morning it's so lovely to be able to talk a nice steady paced walk around the shops. Crowds are smaller too.

In the evening I love the atmosphere, it's so wonderful to be there with the lights and entertainment.

I personally think DTD is underated by a lot of people.

OP, which time you go depends on what you want to get out of your trip to DTD.

Definitely in the morning! We went to DTD several times during our last trip, both in the morning and in the evening, and it was soo much nicer in the morning. We quickly got good (probably the best) parking and didn't have to deal with large crowds. When we went in the evening, all of the decent parking had their "Lot Full" signs up, and we had to drive around for awhile just to find a space.
