Which is better: Fantasmic or Spectromagic?

I'd go for Fantasmic! aslo. Yes the more comfortable seating and crowd management are an issue but I think it has better special effects. If you can do the Fantasmic! Dinner Package, even better!

The crowds are much heavier on Spectro night at MK so being at MGM at that time is even better.

Maybe I'm wrong about this, and I could be, I think Fantasmic! incorporates more recent characters while Spectro, has many more of the older classical characters. Like I said, I could be wrong.

This is VERY easy:

SpectroMagic is much better when you are in the MK.

But Fantasmic! is the best choice when you are at the Dis/MGM Studios.

Definitely Spectromagic. I didn't like Fantasmic (saw it for the first time in October, and don't feel the need to see it again), but I know lots of people really love it! I liked the "project the video onto the water" aspect of things, and also the music, but thought it got repetitive.

Again, as everyone says here, it all depends on what you like! I think I'm more of a parade and fireworks person (and just loved Mickey's Philharmagic!! Thought it was way better than Fantasmic!)

Fantasmic! for sure! I usually sit down and save seats for my family to come later so they can do some last minute attractions at MGM. I never visit WDW and miss this! The best parts for me is at the beginning when Mickey appears then the grand finale.

i would say spectro...fantasmic is good..but seeing it once is enough...

It's a tough choice but I would go with Spectro. All the lights, that music, Mainstreet Usa, and IN the Mk.

Spectromagic, definitely. I really did not care for Fantasmic, but have seen Spectro a bunch of times and it never gets old to me. If you watch it from Frontierland the crowds are not as heavy as Main Street.

Could someone explain a little more about what Spectro is? We haven't seen it. DD2 is not crazy about fireworks, are they a major part or is more parade? We tried to see Wishes last time and she freaked a little. Thanks!

SpectroMagic is a nighttime parade with characters and lights and fantastic music...NO fireworks at all (Wishes usually begins 1 hour after Spectro). It is one of my family's favoirte WDW attractions! It lasts about 15-20 minutes and runs the same course as the daytime parade. The only problem is that unlike the other nighttime shows at WDW, Spectro is only shown on selected nights, which makes it more complicated to work it into the schedule. Make time for this parade. It is truly spectacular, and you'll be humming the music for years to come! (BTW, we just aren't in love with Fantasmic; we've seen it twice and both times really, really TRIED to love it, but just don't get the big deal, though the technology with the lasers on the water is pretty cool).

Fantasmic is by far a better show don"t really care for spectro Spectro my be better for young kids though.
