Which Is Better? AKL or Swan/Dolphin

While the location of the Swan/Dolphin is better, I think that it is the only advantage it has.

We stayed at the AKL for a week, a few years ago and we loved it. The only reason we have not been back yet is that it is a little inconvenient to get to MK with two young children. We plan on staying there again in 20053.

We were scheduled to stay at the Swan for a week last summer. After two nights, we were so dissapointed with the Swan that we switched over to the YC.

The AKL has superior service, scenery and restaurants. The Swan had mediocre, at best, service and dining. There is a definite difference between the Disney service and atmosphere at the AKL, and the Sheraton service and atmosphere at the Swan.

If you use a "voucher" at Beaches & Cream, you may order enough food *(including the kitchen sink as your dessert!) to feed more than two people. It's comparable...perhaps even less than Burger King, for MUCH BETTER FOOD...Atmosphere and convenience.

It's like everything else in life. If you can afford to buy the expensive vehicle, you must also pay the higher registration and insurance...and even gas. If you can afford the upscale housing, you must also afford the higher taxes, insurance and the security, etc. It is all relevant (a veritbale microcosm of our world at large).

So...if you wish to stay on property in a deluxe, you must also counter-in the (minor) added expense of the food/etc. If the OP (who attested she HAS indeed stayed on prop, in the MODS), and her DF drive a vehicle to the Swan/Dolphin or AKL...they may just as easily drive to Burger King (if they so desire).

ALL of these resorts are DESIRABLE...and all will offer comparable accomodations (although...I'm partial to the Swan/Dolphin for location and better accomodations).
