Which is a good CS for MGM???

Good Counter Services in MGM? JMHO, yet I don't feel there are any. For us MGM day is a day of snacks with meals elsewhere.

I think a lot of people agree that MGM doesn't have real good CS choices, but we like Backlot Express. The burgers are pretty good, but the grilled turkey and cheese on wholegrain bread with roasted red peppers is pretty tasty.:)

THAT is what I thought!!! LOL

I have been checking out all the links for menus, etc..and I couldn't find ANYTHING! I thought I might be missing something..which is why I asked! It's so ODD! I wonder why they don't have too many?

Thanks! Maybe we'll take the boat to Epcot/Epcot resort and eat there!

Oh well it was wortha shot!

Disney Studio counter service is the one meal that I don't plan ahead. In my opinion, all their counter services are about the same. (Just basic theme park food.) We just eat what ever we are hungry for or what ever is closest. If we want to eat dinner close to the entrance of Fantasmic before we go, then we eat Rosie's All-American Cafe or Catalina Eddie's. This time we ate at Studio Catering Co. one day for lunch and Toy Story Pizza Planet another night for dinner. Both were tasty, but nothing stands out. I would say the theming is best at Toy Story for younger kids, but if that isn't important to you, then anywhere is fine.

We like the Backlot Express too! I like the grilled turkey and cheese on multigrain bread - it's a tasty change to a burger.

This is the day on the trip that I save for burgers and chicken tenders. All the other parks have so much more variety on their CS menus. Never understood why this park was left out. :confused3

We LOVE Pizza Planet! I think it was a pretty good meal. We get a meal that comes with a pizza, salad, dessert and drink. The pizza was really good and the kids don't eat salad so DH & I get theirs so we have a decent size salad. We ate there twice in October last year.

I didn't find anything that appetizing at MGM. What we did was to take the boat to the Boardwalk and the Yacht and Beach club. They have some great places to eat lunch there: Spoodles pizza window, ESPN Zone, Beaches and Cream. We ate at Beaches and Cream and all had ice cream for lunch but they do serve what looked like pretty good burgers.

Go out the front entrance. Get on the boat to Epcot. Enter Epcot. From there, there are several to pick from. :)

We like to get the cheese pizza/salad combo at Pizza Planet. There are a few tables outside where it's nice to sit & people watch. Toluca Turkey Legs makes a good chili dog.

Backlot Express, Pizza Planet, or our all time favorite DHS meal.... A TURKEY LEG!!!! That's filling enough all on it's own.

There is no good CS, however Backlot Express isnt bad, it is just the standard burger and fry meals, that I try to avoid. I really miss Starring Rolls lunches. Their sandwiches were awsome. Huge lunchmeat portions and a great meal to sit out on the patio. I wish they would bring the lunch menu back.

I'll be honest, I have yet to find CS anywhere in WDW that I would go back to in a heartbeat (and I know there's quite a few that I've never been to). I didn't mind ABC Commissary. I've had worse meals. But the benefit to eating there is that it's inside in the A/C. We were there on a hot day in September and it was a relief to get inside and sit down. We did Little Mermaids Voyage twice that day just to be inside cool somewhere for 10 minutes.

I definitely think it would be cool to take the boat over to Epcot just for lunch (if you've got park hoppers) and then go back to Disney Studios for the rest of the day.

We love Backlot Express

We weren't crazy about ABC Commissary, but would eat there again if we had to.

We HATED Pizza Planet, seriously the only edible thing was the salad. Everyone said that the pizza tasted like cardboard. Hardly any cheese and no sauce. It was disgusting.

I have never eaten the pizza @ Pizza Planet- however, I have at Pinocchio Village Haus in the MK, if it is anything like that- you may want to skip it.

I found it really strange that my 6 yr old niece turned her nose up at the Pinocchio Village Haus pizza-I thought all kids like any kind of pizza!:confused3

If you like Dominos you will be fine. That is what it reminds me of. But that is just MO.
