Which hotels at Universal allow for FOTL access?

In September my husband and I will be going to Universal for 2 days and then WDW for 7 days. Months ago (before finding the DIS boards!) we made reservations through a travel agent for two nights at the Holiday Inn by Universal and the rest of the week at WDW's WL. That was before I knew anything about being able to get FOTL access if you stay on-site in a Universal hotel, which I probably would have opted to do. My receipt says we're staying at the "Holiday Inn Universal." Does anyone know if this qualifies as an official Universal hotel? If not, what are the hotels that qualify? I would be staying there 9/3-9/5...do you think those hotels have gotten booked already or do I still stand a chance?

Sorry, the Holiday Inn doesn't count. The only 3 hotels that count are the on-site hotels: The Portofino Bay Hotel, the Hard Rock Hotel, and the Royal Pacific Resort.

Go to http://universalorlando.com and click on on-site hotels. I checked the RPR and they have a Fan Club rate for your dates at $142 Standard.

Disclaimer: in September (is that Labor Day Weekend?) you may not even need FOTL, but I'm sure some of the folks who've been there during that time can help you with that.

The Holiday Inn is right across the street from Universal and although a nice hotel is nothing like the onsite hotels. If you can, do try to experience the onsite hotels especially since you're staying at the Wilderness Lodge. It'll be well worth the effort!

Call 1-800 23-LOEWS till somebody cancels at least. You've got a good crack at that I think.
