Planning our first trip to DLP next year and trying to decide between Marvel or Newport Bay. It’s $100 more a night for Marvel, is it worth it? I’m leaning towards no but would love opinions. Also we are staying in Paris a couple of days beforehand so is train better to get there and going back to airport or use magic shuttle to go back? TIA

Yes, that is worth it. In my opinion :)
Some perks:
- Your room is bigger
- You will have a fridge in your room
- You are closer to the parks (a few minutes)
- Access to the Marvel meet & greets and the photo ops
- The hotel holds seats back for their hotel guests for restaurant Downtown (I hate it with a passion, but it is a good buffet)
- It is newer. Newport Bay is nice, but it feels dated.
The pool might be better at Newport Bay, but the pool was closed during my last visit at Marvel.

Not sure what you mean with your last question. Do you mean to take the train or the bus from Paris to DLP or from DLP to the airport?

Thank you for the details! Sorry for confusion, looking for best transportation option from city to DLP and then DLP to airport. I know train is fastest but is it safe? Reading reports of lots of theft on train.

I think the train from Paris to DLP is safe, but yes, do take some precautions. Do not keep your money or jewellery out, make sure you hold on to your phone etc.

And from DLP to the airport, the train is the quickest, 10 minutes. But the schedule is irregular.

Follow up question…my parents are thinking of joining us now. My dad takes medication for his cancer that makes him tire easy. When we go to WDW he has an electric scooter he uses. It doesn’t look like they have those there, correct?

I am not an expert, but to my knowledge they only rent out manual wheelchairs at the park. There are some outside rental companies.

On the website I saw manual wheelchairs so I will dig some more and see about scooters. Thank you so much!!!

we had a great time at Newport. it's not brand new but it doesn't feel that dated. Frankly it was the nicest hotel we stayed at in Europe. Your mileage may vary on what you want. My sons walked to the DLP gate in 9 minutes. (Shuttle is definitely slower thank walking)

keep in mind that accessibility in general is not as good in France. not all their metro stations etc have elevators. many do but many don't. Many ride lines have extra stairs here and there.
