Which hotel?

We are currently booked at the Santa Fe in March, but the more I think about it the more I want to upgrade.

We originally booked Santa Fe as we were trying to do the honeymoon on budget, but I feel we should stay somewhere else to make the holiday more special because after all it is our honeymoon.

Another reason I would like to stay somewhere else is we have stayed in Santa Fe before so would like to try somewhere else.

I cant decide between Sequoia, Newport Bay or New York. All have their pros and cons and I just can't decide.

I just wanted everyones opinions on which hotel they would choose if given the choice?

Just to help, these are the price differences for the upgrades:

Sequoia - £167
Newport - £279
New york - £409

I think this one all comes down to personal taste and preference... I actually love all three hotels you're deciding between (which makes it that much harder to choose one)...

New York for it's proximity to the parks... Newport Bay for it's luxury appearance... Sequoia for its tranquility...

The problem with Newport Bay is that you could be literally miles and miles away once inside the hotel, and that could turn it from being a beautiful hotel to stay in, into a bit of a bore

I personally love Sequoia Lodge and would always choose that over anywhere (provided I was booked to stay in the Main Building).

At the end of the day you're going to get a lot of different ideas and views, but it's your honeymoon and you want to make sure you have a fabulous time - so pick one you both feel comfortable with... Just make sure you let Disney know you're staying for your Honeymoon as you never know what *magic* you might receive...

If I were you I would go for Sequoia Lodge in the Main building. Here are my reasons:
- given that the bridge going from Newport bay to Disney village is closed, it's the longest walk to the park at the moment
- Sequoia is only about 3 minutes walk from Hotel New York any way
- Sequoia is HALF the price of New YorK!!! You could use that money on some really special meals.
- The Redwood bar is fab, really great place to relax
- We had some great meals in the restaurants.
- I just love the design of the place.
- Don't know what time of yr you are going but it has a great deck and wooden loungers, fab place for a relaxing drink!

I'd go for the sequioa. I found the newport a bit bland and corporate. not checked out the new york though I must admit.

but the sequioa was pretty when we stayed there. the bars nice too. Perhaps see if you can request a lake view room?

I chose Sequoia Lodge (assuming it is in the main building). If money was no object I would choose Hotel New York because it is LOVELY but if you are on a budget I would opt for SL.

I wouldn't choose NPB even if the bridge was open, but with it closed it is such a loooooooong walk even to get there and then often a looooong walk inside the place.

oops saw price difference after voting! Sequoia Lodge would be lovely for that price! Like other poster I would agree with letting them know it is your honeymoon - they might throw in some champagne!

You will have a lovely time no matter where you stay!

I agree with everyone else about Sequoia Lodge-even though I actually voted Hotel New York.
HNY is my favourite but I wouldnt say it was hundreds of pounds better. I love the setting of SL, the pool is better, rooms are lovely. Its not quite as posh and bigger so a bit busier but would be fab for a honeymoon.
Mind you due to Disney Magic you will have a brilliant time where ever you stay.

I voted Hotel New York then I changed my mind and wished I'd voted Sequoia Lodge because the difference in money would buy you some lovely meals or souvenirs.

Well I am all upgraded to Sequoia!!

Rang and spoke to Disney this morn and paid the difference.

Requested a room near the main facilities and asked for it to be noted that the holiday is for our honeymoon

I am now even more excited then before!

I think we are going around the same time as you actually! We will be there from the 14th - 18th March.

I haven't told hubby or the children we are upgrading, so it will be a nice suprise when we get there. If I can keep quiet until then that is!!
