Which hotel is good to stay off site and good priced for what you get. We will be going in November.

Thanks! :cool1:

Hi. Here's what helps people help you:
1) general budget per night
2) number of people in room
3) expectations (I want to walk / I will take bus / I will use my own car.)
4) pool or don't care about pool / onsite restaurant or nearby okay
5) intangibles that make your family unique (birthday planned / wheelchair access / must have free parking or not / I don't know what else

We always stay at the Desert Inn and Suites. It is pretty much right across the cross walk, a very quick walk to the parks. You don't have to mess with shuttles or parking which is nice. It's nothing fancy but we've always found it clean and comfortable for our purposes. They are very reasonably priced and have 'suites' to accomodate larger parties. (Suites are basically two adjoining rooms with a door to close inbetween) They have an indoor pool and spa and continental breakfast. Nothing fancy but enough to get you through to lunch without spending additional money. Good luck and have fun!

Yeah I think I need more info. But I have stayed in the Desert Inn and it is fine, and directly across the street, usually decent prices. The Carousel Inn across the street is good too.

I recently stayed in the Annabella (behind DCA) and I liked it very much. The best prices seem to be on cheaptickets.com or Orbitz for this hotel. But it is a slightly longer walk (about 10 minutes) so if you have little kids it might be too much. But the hotel was slightly nicer for a good price. I have heard good things about the Howard Johnson across the street too, and my sister swears by the Hyatt, but that one is not within walking distance you have to use the shuttle.

Good luck!

We had a great experience at the Howard Johnson's in December. Close to the park, very decent price for the room, great affordable restaurants nearby, fantastic pool, laundry, pretty landscape, great staff, bright rooms. The only negative thing we experienced were the mattresses were a little hard for our tastes, but when it come to hotels, you never know right?

So far, my fav. for offsite is HoJo's. Big rooms, nice service, nice pool area, etc. If you can get the entertainment rate, even better.

I believe they are redoing their beds. I think HojoAnaheim posted that a couple of months ago. When I stayed there in 2007, the beds were firm, which I like. This last trip, I stayed on the 3rd floor facing DL, and the beds had the plush pillow top mattresses. My hubby and son liked this one better. The beds were so plush and thick that I felt like I had to take a runing start to get on top of the bed. (I'm short!) :rotfl: They've treated us very well at Hojo over the years and it's the only place we'll stay. Excellent prices and customer service. We've paid full price to stay there, because my husband refuses to stay anywhere else. They do go the extra mile.
Here's a link to our room photos if any of you want to see them:

Thanks for this link. It was so HELPFUL for me!! I think I know for sure that I want to stay here next year for our Feb. '09 trip.

We stayed at the Camelot Inn a few weeks ago and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. I posted a review that will provide more information (use the search function to find it).

My DH, DS2, & DS1 were planning a trip towards mid-March and were trying to go fairly cheep. I found a good rate at a hotel called Little Boy Blue, which is suppose to be within walking distance of the front entrance. Before I book the room, maybe someone could give me some input if they had stayed there or if the place looked like a dive. Really, we don't want anything fancy. A clean bed and shower are enough. I've read review at tripadvisor.com but would really like to see what everyone else has to say.

Thanks!!!

It DOES look like a dive, I'm sorry to say...and it's about a 10 minute walk at least, I'd estimate.
