We are planning a trip the end of October. My inlaws are paying and have given us the choice of any hotel...yes we are VERY lucky...and were obvioulsy thinking of the GF, Poly, BC, etc! Anyone have any advice on which one to stay at? There will be 9 adults and 5 kids - ages 3-6.
This is our first trip as a family - we are looking for the best(easiest) for the kids...Thanks!!!

Do you guys have a favorite park? GF & poly are on the Monorail line with the easiest access to the MK. I've never stayed at the Poly but it gets rave reviews on the dis. My favorite is the Beach club. It is within an easy walk to Epcot and hands down has the best resort pool, stromalong bay. The eating options are also very varied. You have Cape May cafe, beaches & creams, all the restaurants on the boardwalk and all the restaurants of the world showcase in Epcot.

Whatever you decide, have a great trip.

All are great, it just depends on what your likes are. We stayed at GF for our wedding and honeymoon. We loved the formality of the resort. On the other hand, I really felt like I was not in Disney so much. Having a view of the MK and Wishes at night was awesome and being right on the monorail line was very convenient. Definitely glad we stayed there, but I would not be in such a hurry to stay there again with all the other choices.

As OP said, BC is great-especially if you've ever eyed up Stormalong Bay. Great pool and cool water slide! We really liked the quick access to Epcot and the World Showcase as well as having everything along the Boardwalk within a few minutes walk. So many activities and restaurants are right there. The rooms were nice and we agreed just for the location alone, we would definitely stay there again.

Poly IMO was the best of the three you are considering. We just LOVED the theming and there was no mistaking that you were still in the heart of all things Disney. You still had the convenience of the monorail and a great view of Wishes and the Water Pageant. The longhouses were very cool and the lobby really just is so nice to sit and hang out at.

No matter what you choose, they are all nice. Everyone has a different opinion, so its hard to say what will be best for you. For us, we would pick Poly at #1, BC as #2 and GF as #3. At some point you'll have to try them all though...we made it our mission years ago to make sure we tried every resort at least once. Finally managed to hit them all! :)

We just came back from a trip just like yours where my IL's took all 11 of us:cool1: . We stayed at the GF and we loved it:love: . It was fabulous:thumbsup2 . They had us all together and we had some fun experiences like getting to have our picture taken infront of Cinderella's carriage because there was a wedding, seeing the fireworks every night from the hotel, and the light show on Seven Seas Lagoon:cloud9: . The rooms were great and very quiet and we were right next to the elevator. The best part was how easy it was to get to MK and Epcot:woohoo: . The monorail is a much more efficient way to get around! You never wait more then about 5 minutes, as opposed to the sometimes 30 to 45 minute wait on the buses:headache: . You also have the boat launches for getting back to your resort from MK, so it is fast too. We loved the fact that we could go to MK for 30 minutes to go shop for awhile (you have to make sure you have the park hopper option). The close proximity to MK was a huge hit and bonus for us. If I had my choice of any resort it would definitely be the GF again:goodvibes .
