Okay - I haven't been to Universal since before my 6yr old. Hubby and I loved it and wanted to wait until dd was a little older. She is a pro at Disney but this time we will be taking her to Universal and Sea World with a small stop at Disney for 2 nights to the Pirate and Princess night. We are very excited. I definitely want to stay at an onsite hotel for the front of the line feature, esp since we are going in August.

Anyway, which hotel do you all recommend for us 3. I am leaning against HRH since it doesn't seem to family oriented. Which of the other 2 would we like more?

Thanks all!

For our first trip we stayed at Royal Pacific. We loved it. Our children were 4 and 6. This year they are 5 and 8 and we are staying at HRH because we wanted a different atmosphere. I think HRH is very kid oriented. The pool is very geared towards kids! I have always thought that the Portofino was a more adult resort because of the spa and it is just beautiful. Although I have never stayed there. Go for RPR since it is usually the cheapest...you wont regret it.

My 7 yo really enjoyed our stay at RPR. The pool is wonderful. There is a large zero entry area, basketball hoops, water volleyball net, plus giant water squirters. There is a large sand beach, too. The only thing it doesn't have is a pool slide. (We just went to the HR one afternoon.) You can bring (or buy)floats or other pool toys too.:thumbsup2

We've stayed at both the HRH and PB. We too thought that the PB would to adult but we were very wrong. It was wonderful. We are going back to the PB at the end of the month. You really can't go wrong at any of the hotels.
