which hotel should I choose??

Hi,

I've just had a look at the DLP brochure, and it doesn't say anything about only one GMF breakfast per booking - it says at no extra charge, subject to availability.

We didn't book our GMF breakfast until we arrived at check-in at the hotel, and when I asked for a GMF slot and day, I was given an envelope from the back of the check-in desk with our "invitations" in. I only asked for the one day, but I assumed, as it seemed to be first-come first-served, and there were a few envelopes there, I'd have been able to have GMF breakfast slots on more than one day if I'd asked?

We have stayed at Santa Fe twice (both times after spending time on a campsite first) and can honestly say it suited our needs especially after 10 days in a mobile home

All we really wanted were comfortable beds, bath and shower.

This year the only time we went in the shop was when we arrived and I took DD to get an autopgraph book while DH was checking in. We didnt set foot in the restaurant at all as we had one GMF breakfast and one character bfast at Mickeys (able to book this by saving money by not going to other hotel)

We spent so much time in the parks I would have been frustrated if Id spent a lot of money on another hotel that I never really saw

what is breakfast like in the hotel, I presume it is the same fare as other hotels, but how bad is the scrum??? I am thinking of doing 2 GMFB's but as we are there 4 nights we will have to eat the other 2 in the hotel, but will probably have them a little later on

Also how easy is it to walk to the parks and village from both the SF and the Cheyenne and what is the shuttle service like

Breakfast in the hotels has always been fine for us - various types of cereal, yogurts, pastries, rolls, cheese, ham, drinks etc...

Shuttle service is very regular. We usually walk as it's a nice 10 minute walk to Disney Village which takes you along the Rio Grande River and next to Lake Disney. Then it's 5 minutes to the main gates of the parks. There are ducks on the River Rio Grande which we try to save rolls from breakfast for - not sure if we are allowed to do that but they always appreciate it!

The walk from the Santa Fe is lovely. The shuttles get very crowded, but are every few minutes.

I didn't get past the breakfast scrum at the Santa Fe, so can't tell you what it was like for quality etc! The queue to get in the restaurant was out the door, so we didn't bother. That was in February half term (so busy, but by no means as busy as the main school holidays).

you will all be pleased to know i have decided on the Cheyenne and just waiting for my friend (who is a travel agent) to get back to me to book it, hopefully tomorrow it will be sorted

we are going early october, midweek so hopefully won't be too busy
