Would recommend Hawthorn Suites, Palm Parkway,LBV. Close to Disney, and in a nice quiet area.

Hi we have just got home two weeks ago we stayed at the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa right opposite downtown Disney you could walk in just a few minutes and they had shuttle buses to all the theme parks it was a really good hotel i have included a link for you hope this helps

We stayed in the Comfort Inn, LBV. The hotel was fine but it is very close to the I4 and because of the noise from the traffic I cannot recommend the hotel to you. Watch out for hotels on the same side of the road because one side will back on to the I4.

thank you for your replies :)

patsy, thank you for that link that hotel looks lovely :)

lorbs, i have done a search on this hotel and it too looks great :)

wicket, what you have just said is what i have been hearing about this place and it is starting to put me off already :)

thanks again eve ::MinnieMo

We stayed at the Sheraton Safari a few years ago on a cheapo deal from TCD. This is quite a good location, with the Crossroads just about in walking distance and a Sizzlers right next door. You are about 2 mins from DTD by car.

Hotel has a big pool with a slide and lovely hot tub. When we arrived, we did get allocated a rubbish room overlooking the loading bay, so I complained and got a lovely pool view room with balcony.

I wouldnt pay a fortune to stay here, but if you can get it at the right price, its a reasonable hotel in a great spot.

Good luck!

we stayed here last year and i didn't find the noise a problem :confused3 the hotel was great for us :)

We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort last year and are going back in "3 sleeps"!! Our apartment was lovely - I know some aren't so nice. Having a washing machine and tumble dryer was great! I hate standing at a laundry feeding coins in!

We faced out on to the pool which is the side the hotel faces on to the I4. I have read reports from people who stayed on the car park side who didn't have any problems with the noise. I have read a lot of reports though of people complaining about the noise and the trouble is you can request a car park room but you are not guaranteed to get it. The actual location is fine though and we have no other complaints about the hotel.

thank you all for your replies :)
it's so hard picking the right hotel and me being a light sleeper the noise at the comfort inn could be a problem  altough it does work out quite a bit cheaper :)
i have also been looking at the double tree in lbv anyone know what this place is like?

thanks again for your help

Have a look at tripadvisor.com, they have actual reviews on hotels by people who have actually stayed there.

We;ve stayed at the Sheraton Safari three times for anything frmo 2 to 7 nights and I myself am a VERY light sleeper and paranoid about other people's noise - never had a problem at the Safari, always requested a pool view room and it was great. They offer buses to Disney, Universal - basically anywhere you want to go (but can't remember if they were free). For non-car users, it's a great place since there are loads of restaurants within very easy walking distance, Walgreens, etc.

We've also stayed at the Grosvenor, our first trip as a family plus MIL- it was fine for our needs, but over priced - but if you can get a good deal, it was in an excellent location 5 mins walk to DTD, free courtesy buses, Disney-connected hotel.

The problem is, there's just SO much choice out there :confused3 :flower:

We've stayed in the Grosvenor also - the Tower Rooms are nicer than the Garden rooms. We were upgraded at no extra charge.

hi annie
i know what you mean about choice  and i am terrible at making my mind up
i came across the double tree in lbv in virgins brochure today it dosen't look too bad, and virgin state that it is within walking distance to dtd and it is also a walt disney world good neighbour hotel :) who knows maybe i'll stick with this hotel :confused3
has anyone stayed here?

thanks again to everyone that has replied :)

we stayed at royal plaza last year (one of the dtd hotels).
It's still closed at the mo but should be up and running again in time for your trip.
We had a nice room,no traffic noise and the free transport to disney was very handy. We booked through tcd and we thought it was a bargain if you consider the transport. :sunny:
