Which hotel? HOJO, Camelot, or Desert Inn?

I've got our hotel choice narrowed down to these 3. Check in will be March 13. We would prefer to park our car at the hotel and just walk to the gates. But I know we'll be tired! Price is comparable on all 3. 2 adults, 8yo & 5yo.

Woohoo! You are going to Disneyland! For me, I would get the closest hotel room to the park! I know how long it feels when it is time to walk back to the hotel at night. Every step matters. LOL I don't know where Desert Inn is, so I would say Carousel because it is a little bit closer than HoJos. Have a great time planning!

We've only stayed at the Camelot. Nice place. Loved the 4th floor pool,(of course we were only 2 doors down from it. :thumbsup2),great place to watch the fireworks . Mickey D's is right next door, (if you get tired of the conny breakfasts). Probably try HoJos next time so the g-kids can have fun at the pool there.

i'm staying at the desert inn at the moment, and it is definately the closest! i've previously stayed at carousel, camelot and fairfield and would happily stay at any of those again, but the desert inn has the shortest walk !

Depends entirely on priority....

Closest=Desert Inn
Nicer and more comfortable(IMHO)=HoJo

I really, really LOVE HoJo, but we are debating staying at the Desert Inn for our Feb trip. I'm a travel agent and have clients ask about it, so I feel I should try it to give my honest opinion, but it'll be hard giving up my pillowtop mattress at HoJo!

We are a very non athletic family and didn't find the Hojo's walk nearly as bad as I had imagined it would be. The beds are sooo comfy! However, Desert Inn is right across the street, so I'd narrow it down to those two.

What room class did you get? We've always stayed at BWPPI but the pics on Desert Inn look so roomy and the indoor pool would be a plus for our March trip. In your opinion is it decent?

Desert Inn is Close, and has an indoor pool which is good for winter if the kids want to swim.

We've stayed at both HoJo & Desert Inn ~ I prefer HoJo but would stay at the Desert Inn again. Even if the ent. rate at HoJo's isn't available now for your dates some or all could be added as you get closer ~ all nights around Thanksgiving were available last month! You could book now and keep an eye on the dates if they show up switch your rate to the ent. rate ~ you could book nights at 2 or more places and cancel what you don't want/need as you get closer.

We liked the Camelot. I like that the cars are off the street and somewhat secure. It is a very short walk to the cross walk.

The rooms were nice and the free continental breakfast was okay to hold me over for an hour or two.

We have not stayed there since the late 90's though, back then is was called Park Inn International. So I do not have any recent experience staying there.

We have stayed at Camelot & HoJo in the past.

We would stay at Camelot again in a heartbeat. Nice and close, and we felt safe there.

Hojo was great, but too far for us to walk. I loved the way the rooms were made - such beautiful natural light!!

However, with the 2, I would stay at Camelot before Hojo, specifically because it is closer.

Next year we are doing REALLY close, BWPPI!!

We've done Desert Inn and HOJO. Desert Inn was our preference before staying at HOJO. HOJO was more comfortable and quieter. The walk really isn't that bad even with my bad foot.

Desert Inn is great if the walk is all you really care about and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if they could beat HOJO's rates.

I stayed at the Desert Inn in November. I absolutely loved it . The walk to the park was a breeze. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. I highly recomend staying there. I will definately stay at the Desert Inn on my next trip to disneyland in the new year.

What room catagory did you stay in? Are the rooms as large as they look online? Did you try the pool? Was it clean/decent? Did you get a room with a spa?

I'm seriously thinking of saving a ton of money and NOT going the Grand this year. We always stay at BWPPI when not onsite but my daughter LOVES to come back to the hotels and take swim breaks and we'll be going in March.

Just never been to the Desert Inn and have been trying to read up as much as I can :)

Love this room! it's the Parlor A at the Desert Inn. We stay in this room type all the time. I have taken the girls alone and stayed in the regular room and enjoyed it.

We have stayed at other hotels on the "Harbor Strip", but this is our favortie.

I have stayed in an A suite few times, and a C-1 parlor suite. I have reservations for this hotel and room type and Anaheim Plaza. I think I'm going to cancel AP and go with DI because it's showing possible rain and I want the indoor pool for my son. Parking can be a pain but it's close and the people are nice

I stayed at Desert Inn with DH and baby 18 months in Nov 20009- it was awesome- we had room 130- way in the back away from everyone- which was cool cause it felt as if the baby was to cry- nobody would hear him. They brought us a crib free of charge- even though we expicted to pay for it- for our 3 night stay- it was not in the room when we arrived at 10 pm- they brought it up 5 min later- "sean" at check in was awesome! and super nice!!! Our credit card wasnt working properly- so we had to transfer funds from one card to the next via Iphone- which we all laughed about... no hassles. no rudeness.. This indoor pool was cool- we went in the afternoon- to relax the baby- upon being there- another family of 13 took up the entire spa- and left this 5 year old unatended as he swam up to us to play "games" - after about 10 min- Dh said "lets just go back to our room and sit in our personal spa" in our suites of course- no foul play with an 18month old LOL- but it was much better then the indoor pool and warmer. The room was sooo clean- no bed bugs, or ants or roaches and the ref and micro was perfect. The bed was comfy. Everyone seemed nice- housekeeping was great- stafff great- they even let us check out an hour later at no charge- walking to the park was amazing- I would definately stY HERE AGAIN! PRICE WAS AWESOME!

sorry for all the typos- baby is pounding at computer keypad as I was typing- LOL- I suppose he is implying his joy too lol!

We just got back from the Desert Inn & Suites last night. We have stayed there before and were very happy with it. This time I was not so happy but it could have been partly because it was not a very good trip period. Our room was clean but there were a couple of little things - there was no soap for the sink & shower and the second morning we found out the coffee make did not work (first try). I asked for it to be replaced but it was not. A little bigger issue was that I had one very luke warm shower and one cold shower. Now I know I did not pay for a 5 star but....
So along comes Wed. morning and we go to Goofy's for breakfast before our drive home. We had to leave my mother at the DLH because she became ill after we were finished with breakfast - it had nothing to do with the breakfast. After leaving DLH at last and getting stuck in a LONG line for security, we get to our hotel at check out time. I still need to get everything out of the room and stop by to tell the desk we need another 1/2 hr. - which they were very nice about. My mother decides she is ok to walk back (I was goign to drive over and pick her up) and it takes her awhile to get back as she had to stop a few times. Long story short - I love them :worship::worship::worship:. I told them what had happened and they were very nice. We were in our room until a little after 1pm (2 hours after check out). They could not have been nicer. It turns out that one of their boilers broke which is why I got the showers I did.

We will definately be staying there for our trips from now on.

If you stay at the DI, Denny's next door gives you a discount.

Did they fix the boiler? I also notice the "hot tub" is more like a "warm tub" It's NEVER hot enough. If you are sitting in the hot tub and are starting to get COLD then it's not hot enough!
