5:00, 7:15 or 9:30???

Which show should we choose? It will be me, DH, DD-10, DD-8, DS-2 and Grandma. Should we ride the boat over from MK or how do we get there. We are staying at POR.

Making these reservations are really stressing me out. It is hard to plan where we will be and how to make things convenient. Somebody tell me what is the simplest way to figure out our dinner plans!!!! The dining plan (FREE :teeth: ) is wonderful but it is making dinner plans very complicated because we have soooo many choices now!

Thanks for your help!

7:15 show/meal. It allows you to take your time during the day and gives you some time to get there. The Hoop is great!

We’ve been to all three times at various points throughout the years. My favorite is the 5:00 because it leaves time to do some things afterwards. I wasn’t wild about the last seating – too late for me to eat! The last seating was the least crowded on our visit – but that was in early December; that may not always hold true, especially during “primetime” visits.

I like the 7:15 show. The late show I think would be too late with the kids, but you might also like the 5:00 p.m. it really depends at what time you eat at home. The easiest way to get there is from the MK, just take a bus there and then the boat to FW, it is them walking distance from the marina.

I prefer the 5:00 p.m. show. It is a nice break during the hot day and then you can go back over to the MK all refreshed and do some evening things.

The best way to get there is to take one of the "resort boats" that is going to Fort Wilderness. It is a nice ride and it lets you off very close to Pioneer Hall. There is a little playground/beach there where you can unwind before dinner.

I read this on another site about POR
"Direct bus service is available to Fort Wilderness after 4 p.m. on the "Internal" shuttle bus, particularly handy for those heading for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review"
I never heard of this before, is it true?

we always did the 7:15 show. not too late, and you still get a good full day in at the parks.

HOWEVER - we did try the late show once - hated it. was starving to death before we got there.

ALSO - just booked for our upcoming trip in Sept/Oct. booked the 5pm show as we now have a 1 year old. she would not do well at the 7:15 show and we wouldn't even think about the late show.

You may want to keep in mind how your 2 year old will hold up that day and decide based on that.

Hoop Dee Doo is not to be missed for us though.

We've done the early show and the late show and I agree that I think the middle show time would be best  . The late show was to get the AP discount our first time and DD was only 4. We were all starving and even though she loved the show, she just couldn't stay awake and missed the majority of the show. Last year we went to the early show when we took the entire family. We loved this and also enjoyed after the show having plenty of time to shop and also enjoy the hay ride, but it was kinda of a rush as we had done Epcot all day and had to wind up to rush over to HDDR. We did skip the afternoon break and stayed at Epcot right up until time to go eat, but felt a little rushed. Hope this helps. We love this show and I'm already missing that we don't have it on this summer's schedule.

Hi txgirl,

After the 7:15 show, a couple of times we have gone and sat on the beach and watched the EWP. It is on the way to the boat dock. Last year we didn't and went right to the boat and really had some pixie dust come our way. We were held up three times by the EWP (saw most of it each time), and got to see Wishes from the water. Just happened that way. Between that and the fantastic time 15 of us had at the HDDR, it was one of the best nights we ever had at WDW.

Have a most magical time!!

It is so nice to have the input from you all! :sunny:

It seems like we could do a short day (AK maybe?) and come back to the room and nap then head out for the early show at 5:00 and still have time afterwards to go to a park and do nighttime stuff. It's cool to have the options!

I did the late show once when I was in my early twenties and although the show was great, I had a hard time keeping awake. I was so hungry and tired. We are rtying the 5 o clock show on August 16th. We are going to use this as a quiet swim at the pool day. Then go for the early show.

I don't recall which time we went to. I would like to say the 7:15 show. It gives you plenty of time to do other things in the day. Enjoy! I love HDDR! :)

When is the food served for the 5:00 pm show? Or is it a buffet that you can start as soon as you go in at 5 pm? And when does it end? Thanks.

We did the 7:15 this past week and as stated above right after dinner we sat on the beach area and watched the EWP go by and then immediately got on the boat where we were just in time to see the fireworks which was so nice.

I never heard of this either. I doubt that is true.
