Which hat/cap?

I get a lot of sweat when I wear a hat/cap under hot weather. My hair becomes messy.

Does anyone have recommendations on a hat/cap that can wear in hot weather but not getting sweat on the hair?

You could go all 70's/80's and wear a visor. There's a pic of me as a kid at WDW in 1980 and I was rockin' a white and blue WDW visor..also was wearing kneesocks.!?

I also discovered a great visor on my last trip. It had a nice big brim, so it shaded my face really well. It was made out of a really nice material - it looks like straw, but it's really some kind of cloth.

What was also great was that the band attached together with Velcro in the back. When I wasn't using it (when indoors), I just unhooked the velcro pieces and looped it through the strap on my bag or fanny pack.

Didn't give me "hat hair" or make me sweat at all. I can't remember where I bought it, though -- I think it was either Target or Kmart last summer. Only cost about $6.

I don't often wear a hat, but when I feel like I absolutely have to, it's this one: http://www.backcountry.com/store/COL0684/Columbia-Schooner-Bank-Cachalot-Hat.html I've had it for many years, and it is, by far the most comfortable hat I've worn. It's super lightweight and doesn't make my head sweat.

I doubt if there's any hat that will keep you from sweating in the Florida heat. But I wear a "fisherman's hat," also known as a "floppy hat," for several reasons: It keeps rain off my glasses during one of the frequent quick Florida showers, it affords shade all around including my ears and the back of my neck, it keeps sun glare out of my eyes, it can be easily folded and stuck into a pocket when indoors for shows and restaurants, and also because mine has an FSU logo front and center.
