Its cheaper to do POR than AoA with the 30% discount on moderate but not sure if sacrificing kid appeal is worth it for the family of 5. Appreciate your feedback.

POR is probably a bit further out to the parks, but has the boat ride to DTD. I think the kids would be very happy at POR - Pool has slide/hot tub, which I don't believe AoA has. Grounds are nicer at POR, IMO, but you don't have all the Disney 'statues' around like at AoA. I also preferred the food court at POR than AoA - seems like everything is made to order at AoA so you spend a long time waiting for food. Plus, there is a sit-down restaurant at POR.

Travel time to parks wouldn't play into my decision for a resort - it's probably only a difference of minutes.

We've stayed at POR with my 3 kids many times. POR wins over AOA for the pool slide and you can use the pools at POR and POFQ. If you're kids like to swim, I'd pick POR. Rooms are tight with 5 but we never had any problems even when we were there with a crib. To save $$, I'd choose POR.

The kids do like to swim and its a great way to cool off in June. Thanks for sharing.
