Which grocery service is best? how much is the fee to deliver? can they deliver beer/alcohol ? thanks!

We've only used Gardengrocer- www.gardengrocer.com The fee was based on the dollar amount ordered if I remember correctly. They did pick up liquor for us. You can request this in the comment section. Other people on the boards have liked wegoshop as well.

The two are Garden Grocer and We Go Shop. Both get very strong reviews (WGS had a spot of trouble a long time ago, but has been under new management for several years, and is back to providing excellent service for a while now.)

The model for each is slightly different. GG has a web site that you can browse and order from, and is probably a tad more expensive. WGS is less structured---you give them a list, and tell them which stores, and they shop for it. I happen to like GG's ordering model better, but others like WGS just as much.

All depends on how you want to do it. Can't go wrong with either.

Just to add... GG also went through some growing pains a couple years ago with some bad reviews of service and customer service. [2004 thread] And to be fair... during a month or two at the end of 2005 during a change in owners/management there were some issues at WGS [2005 thread. Both have gotten fairly good reviews since then. I would give the advantage to WGS since the new owners were never involved with any issues.

As Brian stated the model is slightly different on how they make a profit. GG marks up their food with little or no service charge ($12 fee for under $200) where WGS charges a service charge with no mark-up on their food and will shop at the store(s) of your choice. WGS service charges; $17 under $100 order, $22 for $100-200, $32 for $200-300, and 12% for above $300. Both will deliver Beer/Alcohol.

These both seem like great places to get food but everything i have read the prices are extremely high + you still pay a delivery charge.

I for one would be interested in what it would cost to get a taxi and go to walmart for an hour and pick up my own food.

I rent a car every year right now since the boys are still young and i dont want to bother anyone on disney transportation with our double stroller( I call it the monster truck). I usually go to walmart and shop when we break on the fisrt day for rest time.

gal milk 250 campared to 450
bottled water 300 compared to 600 we usually buy 2 cases and use those in park wtih koolaid packs

Not sure I guess i may be just a little cheap on that stuff because I like to blow my money on the kids and wife

+ I am sure alcohol has got to be cheaper

WeGoShop charges you the store price plus the service charge (they even give you the store receipt). They will shop at Walmart for you, for the Service Charge ($17, $22, $32 or $12%). Not sure which is cheaper the service charge or taking a taxis, but if you have a car anyway then I would do as you have done and go shopping while the others nap! That's what we usually do.

That's easy---it costs you at least an hour. ;)

(The cab is probably cheaper than the delivery fee plus the gratuities you add, presuming you tip appropriately.)

Like anything else, you can spend a little extra to save some time on vacation, or you can spend a little time to save some money. Your choice. When I have plenty of time on arrival day, I'll often shop for myself. If things are busy on arrival day, I'll let Garden Grocer do it.

My ddil had her van with her this trip, and we went to Walmart. We easily spent as much at Walmart as we did last October using Garden Grocer. It took us over an hour with travel time and shopping time, and we only bought breakfast, fruit, snacks, water and liquor. We've used Garden Grocer several times since 2003 without problems.
