Which grocery delivery service would you recommend?

I usually have a rental car so I normally do my own shopping. This trip I decided not to get a car. So which grocery delivery service do you like? Thanks!

We never rent a car when we fly and we always use Garden Grocer. They offer discounts for ordering early (like 10% for 60 days out and 7% for 30 days and 5% for 15 days). They have an ok selection of beer & wine which is a big reason why we order - to avoid paying Disney onsite prices for beer & wine. We used to get a case of water too but now just use Brita refillable water bottles. You will have to fax or email a copy of your ID to order alcohol. They will leave the order with Bell Services so that it's ready & waiting on you when you arrive (if you select a delivery time prior to your anticipated arrival). You can also add a tip online when you place the order - that way you don't need to be around to accept the delivery. Yes, the prices are slightly higher than at home but it's the whole convenience factor - and they're still cheaper than paying Disney's prices. I think the minimum order amount is $40 (which doesn't usually take too long to hit).

RE: any problems with them - we've been using them for several years, multiple times per year...there was one time they delivered reg. Coke instead of Diet Coke - I called them and they sent out a replacement item the next day (it was late evening when we arrived that time).

Has anyone used amazon prime? We are going during Thanksgiving and are just trying to see what would be the best. Have used garden Grocer in the past and they were great. Thanks for the help.

Another Garden Grocer believer. They are great and extremely thorough and efficient.

I love Amazon, but I decided to go with Garden Grocer -again! - this year. Their service is terrific and we've used them several times with no issues. I highly recommend them. :thumbsup2

Try Dizzy Dolphin Delivery, you look her up on Facebook. Fantastic service! She is also a DVC member.

Another vote for garden grocer. They offer discounts if you order early and will take special requests via email. You are able to select a delivery time slot. When we land there is usually a text and voicemail stating our order is in bell services.

We have used Garden Grocer twice and have had great service. Just a thought - we did uber this time. It was under $20 round trip and we went to Publix. We were able to purchase exactly what we wanted and their was a liquor store in the same shopping area as they sell beer and wine at the store, but not hard alcohol. Yes, it took us about 90 minutes, but it saved us huge and we were able to look for sales and get exactly what we wanted.

i use both amazon pantry ( a prime service) but with that you cannot order anything that needs refrigerated so if we want those we use garden grocer

What does Garden Grocer do with the perishable items if it's delivered before you get there?

Garden Grocer is fabulous and we have and will continue to use them. They have always provided exactly what was ordered with a text message when delivery was dropped off. Perishables are put in refrigerated area by Bell Services if you are not yet there. We highly recommend them.

We have used Garden Grocer 4-5 times and they have been great. We like the early order discounts. I like the app, too. We have put together a favorites list which really comes in handy when we are ready to order. We have only had one item omitted in all of those orders and they quickly brought it to us the next day. They have great communication.

Why? just because she's a DVC member? Does she offer discounts, are her prices comparable or lower than Garden Grocer or Amazon? Is she a member with BBB?

Provide a link, you're the one who's recommending her! The other company's are already established.

What an excellent review! Can you please tell me what have you ordered and how many people?

This trip, there is just three of us, and we are here for 2 weeks. Other trips have been 7-8 people for 8-9 days. We tend not to do a lot of cooking in the villa, so we mostly order snacks, beverages and some basic foods. We will get beer, bottled water, and diet soda for all trips. Limes are a necessity for cocktail hour. I order a creamer or half and half for coffee (we bring sugar packets or keep them in our OL). We usually get a loaf of bread, English muffins, cold cuts, hot dogs and buns. Our snack order tends to be chips, dip, Doritos, pretzels, block cheese and crackers. This time, we did order some lettuce, salad dressing and stuff to make spaghetti. We also got some bananas and yogurt. Garden Grocer offers a set list of items, which we really like. Some prefer We Go Shop, since you can specify brands and certain stores, but for me, it is much easier having a pick list of what is available. We generally exceed the $200 threshold to get the $2 delivery fee, rather than $14.

We usually BYO but this past May DH was diagnosed with cancer, so organic items are a necessity. Thanks for your review, I'll definitely check them out.

While a link would have been nice, I'm happy to hear about other grocery delivery services, as I'm pretty sure others here are, also.

I see nothing wrong with talking about a new company.

Competition is good.

So sorry to hear about your DH's diagnosis. You may want to consider We Go Shop if you are looking primarily for organic. They can shop any store that you specify. I think I have seen posts about people getting delivery from Whole Foods, but don't quote me on that. Many wishes for a wonderful WDW vacation and successful journey!

None! We rent a car so we can shop at Publix, plus have the other numerous freedoms of having a car. Btw to those who say they refrigerate your groceries, that depends on the resort or the knowledge and attitude of the staff. I have had bell staff claim that they don't have room and claim their fridge is only for medicine.
