Hi, I have decided to get my mother and my mother in law both personalized photo throws for x-mas. A photo throw is a throw blanket with a photo woven into it. They are very nice. I cant decide if the photo on the throws should be a wedding pic of my hubby and I or if it should be a photo of our 2 kids. I kind of like the wedding photo idea, we were married 3 years ago, but my hubby says "Nobody wants to see a picture of us" so he thinks it should be a pic of our 2 kids. Both I think will be nice. Which would you prefer to have....a throw with a pic of your childs wedding or a throw with your grand children on it? Thanks

I was thinking it would be cool to do their wedding photo. but if I didn't go that route, I'd go grandkids. I know my MIL would love it.

I would do the grandkids for a throw. If you really wanted to give them a Wedding photo, I would give them a nice framed one.

I think all four of you should take a photo and use that.

The more family members, the better. :)

If you can't get a family photo done I'd absolutely go with the grandkids. I'm totally with your DH on this one. I know my mom (and I'd imagine my MIL) would MUCH prefer the grandkids over a wedding photo.

Absolutely a throw with my grandkids pictured (I'm assuming that, since I don't have grandchildren and it better be quite a few years before I do!).

I'd keep the one with my grandkids down in the family room, but I'd feel sort of funny using or displaying one of my son's wedding picture.

Thanks to all! I'll go with the grandkids!

Good choice--remember back when your first baby was born and you went to Grandma and Grandpa's and they said "the baby is here". Sorry, you take second fiddle now :lmao::lmao:.

Sorry but as nice as your wedding photos is I would not want a throw of it. The grandkids would be great and see so nice to cuddle up with.

Did you know that you can put more than one picture on those throws?

I gave one to my sister a few years ago but I didn't have it pre-made. I bought the kit which was basically an order form that she had to mail in with the photo she wanted to use. She ended up putting 4 photos together and her throw came out with 4 panels - one of each of my boys, one of my boys together and one of her rabbits.

You could do your wedding picture on one panel and various pictures of your kids on the remaining ones. I think you just have to submit a picture of a certain size, but you could certainly put in multiple pictures as long as the whole layout comes out to the right size.

So that's my vote - use several pictures!

:thumbsup2 The only wedding picture I have displayed is our wedding picture - my parents don't even have one framed.

I vote for the whole family and if you do multiple pics, maybe one of the whole family and one of just the kids.

We have several of those throws & also gave them as gifts to both sets of grandparents. Yes they do make beautiful gifts.

Go with the photos of the kids! :thumbsup2
