I have a question that's been bugging me for a while. On my trips to Disneyland I'm a wake up early and be at the park lining up well before opening type of person, and everytime I arrive the are usually 2-3 other groups lined up at different turnstiles. What id like to know is, how do you know which gate to line up in front of? Is there some way you can tell if the gate your lining up in front of is actually going to open!! I usually just sit myself down in front of one and hope for the best, but have been caught out once or twice when no one is stationed at my turnstile and the one next to me ends up scanning both its line and my line through.

Just thought I'd check everyone's thoughts and ideas so I can be better prepared on this years trip :)

One thing to look for is the sign above the gate. They will indicate if they are to open for Magic Morning /Early Entry.
The other thing I have heard is gate 14 is the best one to go through. It's suppose to be faster or something like that.

We try to be first in line for Security and then when we arrive at the gates we try for one in the middle.

We finally noticed gate 14 on this last visit. It's a good choice because there's a tree planter out in front, so the line splits as it gets close to the gate itself.
