We intend to arrive at Universal at opening time but I'm not sure which ride to go to first. I'd prefer to reserve our FOL if possible in case we want to ride these again that morning. We could get Express Passes for The Mummy and head to Shrek maybe...

Any recommendations?

Ok, Well this is a way you can do it.

Go to the Express Machines for Mummy Quickly. Get it done, then run back to Shrek and Hit it, it should work out for you.

I would do Shrek first because it doesn't have express pass. You'll be able to get express for Mummy when you get off Shrek.

Both ideas sound good. :D But true, the lines for Shrek will likely form quickly so it might be wise to hit it first. Hmmmm....

I'm at Universal several times a week and I can tell you that the estimated wait time for Shrek is always longer than the wait time for Mummy. Go to Shrek first and then get express for the Mummy. They won't be out of express passes for the Mummy by the time you get out of Shrek.

I say go to Shrek first. For starters, it's near the entrance and you won't have to back track to get back there. I was surprised by how many non FOTL Mummy rides I got in before 10:00 a.m.. You can probalby do Shrek and go straight to the Mummy without much wait time.

Iwent to Unversal 3 x's last week. They open the park 15 minutes before official time. We went to Shrek first (saw the second show) and were out by 9:15am and the line for Shrek was already 45 minutes. And that was the shortest wait of the day.

You can always get a fast pass for Mummy, in fact even if you just miss the first show you can send one in your party for Mummy fast passes.

Wow! OK, Shrek it is then. Thanks!

Stay on site and don't worry about it!!!! :D

Just kidding. I just thought I would throw off the repetition of the posts, but the above responses are right.

The Shrek line is outside and it is hot. The Mummy line is inside with air conditioning. I would go to Shrek first and wait for Mummy if I had to.

Definitely shrek first. mummy is indoors with air conditioning and things (props) to actually look at. And also since shrek is the first attraction people come to when arriving it does have very long lines.

I think the OP IS staying onsite, but doesn't want to use his/her FOTL perk for Mummy early in the AM and then be precluded from going on again before 3 PM. This way he/she can get a regular Express pass and ride once with that, then a second time with FOTL. Did I read that correctly?
Any word on whether they will lift the "one time before 3PM" restriction after Labor Day? We are going in mid- Sept, and wondering if it will still be in place or not?
