hello, five of us, for an upcoming october Fastasmic dining experience. Which restaurant would you recommend?

much thanks.

We really enjoyed MM, we ate there just about one week ago, the calamari was very good and the chicken parm was solid. We have also eaten at HV, food was just fair.

we have done both MM and H & V and liked both...MM fantasmic pkg was delicious...we had appetizers, and three of us adults had the steak and mac and cheese...wow ..and then one had the seafood pasta dish and two kiddos had great kid selections...the kids dessert was spaghetti and meatball cup cake..and the adults had a plate of small desserts...hollywood and vine had so much selections ..it was hard to choose...so either way you cant go wrong

We have eaten at all three restaurants for the Fantasmic Dining Package.

MM is a great family choice as it usually has something for everyone and you get an app, entree, and then sampler dessert. Food is overall very good and enjoyable atmosphere. Usually a little less full as well.

H&V- I'm not sure if it was because it was marathon weekend, but the food on the buffet seemed to be lacking a bit of variety and also didn't seem very fresh. The exception here was the dessert bar with the chocolate fondue fountain.

Brown Derby- while it is more expensive, we love the Brown Derby as we have always had amazing food and love the drink choices (alcohol not included in price at any locations).

We love Mama Melrose, always enjoy our meals there, and considering vale/pricing that's been our pick for the Fantasmic package.
Wherever you go, hope you have a magical time!
:goodvibes

We purchased the F! dinner package at HBD in March. It is pricey and in our opinion, not worth the price. If I were to do it again, I'd go for MM or H & V.

Is H&V dinner only for Fantasmic? Like, could I use it at lunch for the Disney Jr. character meal and kill two birds with one stone?
Nice to hear people like MM. I'm always wary of expensive Italian as not being worth the money.

The Brown Derby is one of our favorite resaurants period. More money, but amazing food and atmosphere!!

If the decision comes down to the quality of food and money is not part of the equation then I would recommend the Brown Derby. While the HBD is not my favorite signature restaurant in WDW, it does blow away MM and H&V. If the cost is important then I would recommend Mama Melrose every day of the week and twice on Sunday. My opinion of MM is more like that of an Olive Garden or a Carrabba's, perhaps a bit better; Though I will admit Olive Garden is the weakest of the three. MM is ok and is a place I would go back to, but I wouldn't call it spectacular. As for H&V; I really don't care if every character Disney ever created was there, this place like just about any other buffet is not all that great. Pre-made institutional quality food sitting at serving stations to be scooped up by droves of people handling utensils after using restrooms and not washing their hands, kids up there after picking their noses and cleaning ear wax out of their ears with their fingers and etc. just doesn't do much for me. And I'm hardly germ-o-phobic; but this place does it to me as does Chef Mickey.

We have never eaten at any of the 3 but selected MM for our upcoming package because it was the least expensive. And we like Italian. DD, 8, can always eat spaghetti!

We chose the H&V Fantasmic dinner package because we look forward to seeing Minnie and Mickey in their Halloween attire. We have kids and the experience is just as important as the food. The buffet also gives us lots of options.

Lunch will have Disney Junior characters. Dinner will be Minnie's Seasonal Dine.

I like MM a lot. I think that the value is good especially on the DDP. It is 1 TS credit and your appetizer is included.

WE usually book MM for a late lunch. It is a nice break with a good meal.

Two years ago DH and I chose the HBD. We were two adults and no children and thought we would use this as one of our more expensive, more adult atmosphere type restaurants. There were families there also, but the environment was relaxed and not noisy or chaotic. We loved our steaks and Cobb salad. I loved the grapefruit cake. We would not hesitate to go back as part of that package again. We did the math while there, and figured out it would have been so much more expensive without the show package. So it was a great deal for us.

We done Mama Melrose in november and We Go with it in may. My Sister and i Will Be The only who loooooooooove The dessert sampler.

I just made a reservation there too, to see the characters in their Halloween costumes. Sounds like fun. I had three other times got better time and date, but then it gave me the "unable to complete reservation at this time" thing.
I tried the search for recent reviews of Minnies Seasonal Dine, with no luck. I watched the Disunplugged review of it when it started, hoping there are better reviews now. Can anyone point me to recent reviews please and thank you.

We've had the Fantasmic package for MM and HBD. MM is good, in fact my H thought the steak was really good. HBD is very good, albeit more expensive and a much more leisurely meal.

I have seen very little commentary about this experience, also. I don't think they have ever done the Halloween dine yet. It is a spinoff of Minnie's Holiday Dine that they did last Christmas. It was very popular and I read lots of good reviews of it. The other "Seasonal Dine" H&V experiences have been going on for some time now, but I haven't seen or read much about them.

We did the Fantasmic package at MM two years in a row and really enjoyed it! We had excellent service and you really get a lot of food! The food was tasty :) we definitely recommend it
