It's dh, ds4, and myself. I know we'll be too exhausted to stay up for all of them! My sister said Illuminations is not much more than fireworks. Any suggestions? Or any tips for getting a good spot without waiting FOREVER? :confused3

All the night time shows are great. I think my favorite is Illuminations. Here's a couple of tips for viewing and not having to wait. You can usually catch a great seat for Illuminations in Japan right in front of the temple on the wall. For Wishes and Spectromagic the best place is a cluster of tables behind the Christmas Shop in Liberty Square. The parade goes right by on the bridge with a great view. You don't get a direct view of the castle for the firworks but its a nice quiet area.

Um.... go to all of them. :)

Sorry, that didn't really help, did it?

The nighttime entertainment at WDW is my favorite thing in the entire resort. My personal favorite show is also Illuminations. I disagree that it's "not much more than fireworks"... it's fireworks, lasers, fountains, a huge earth globe with images projected on it, and an absolutely amazing musical score. It's my favorite thing at all of WDW. I've noted, however, that my opinion is in the minority, as more people seem to love Wishes the most (I love it too!).

If you're just going to see one, I would pick a night at the Magic Kingdom when both Spectromagic (nighttime parade) and Wishes (fireworks) are running and see both of those. I agree with Dizfreak... Liberty Square is a great place to watch the parade. However, for Wishes, I like to be on Main Street because I love seeing the fireworks framing the castle. :)

As for Fantasmic... well, let's not go there. We still haven't seen the show as we've been rained out all three times we've tried to see it (once in 2003, twice last year.) This will be the year to break the "Fantasmic Curse".

If you can only see one nighttime show/parade my personal vote would be for Fantasmic. ::yes:: JMO! :sunny:

I definitely vote for Illuminations. It is wonderful. One of my favorite parts is when the whole World Showcase is lit up by the fireworks and you can look around the lake and see how many people are actually watching. It is an amazing sight :sunny:

I've seen this show at least a dozen times, maybe more, and it never fails to put a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.

It's just that good: the music, the images, the pyrotechnics, the theme of fellowship and world peace...it really sends you home with a high! :teeth:

My vote is for Wishes! I think that it alone is arguably worth the price of admission to the MK. I agree with the previous poster that in order to get the full effect, you need to be on Main St. The other shows are great too, but I think Wishes is Disney at their best!!

Good Luck!
Leslie

They are all wonderful and worth seeing-Wishes at MK is my favorite though. Try to fit Wishes,Illuminations and Fantasmic in-you wont be disappointed!!

My DH thinks Illuminations is the best, but I am going to say Wishes. The castle looks awesome with the fireworks going off behind it.

We took my DS4 to see all of them last visit...he was pretty wiped out, it was like he had jet-lag..too many late nights. We will probably not do any this next trip, maybe catch Wishes from California Grill.
