Which EMH?

We will definitely do some extra magic hours during our trip next October. But I don`t have that much experience with EMH; which ones do you, the experts, recommend? We won`t be doing all of them during our trip; sometimes we will opt for a regular rope drop somewhere else.

I'm probably the only peerson who was confused!

I like EMH and take advantage of it. I know others do not because the EMH usually leads to bigger crowds at the park on those days. But I usually park hop annyway and will take advantage of the EMH before it gets too crazy. IMO, most EMH guests run straight to the biggest attraction. My stratgey is the opposite. I go to the secondary attractions an can usually complete three to five rides during the EMH. For eample, at MK, I skip 7DMT and go straight for Frontierland. There, I can usually ride BTM, SM, and HM in the firstt 40 minutes.

I agree that it's best to use EMH for the less popular rides. Of course, if you wanted to ride something and didn't get a FP for it you should go straight to it (with the possible exception of FOP - that still looks downright scary at rope drop). We like using MK EMHs for Frontierland and Tomorrowland attractions and AK EMHs for the Safari, EE, Dinoland attractions. We can usually ride at least 6-8 rides before any lines start to build in these areas. Thought Epcot is my favorite park we do not usually use Epcot EMHs - prime attractions are too spread out to give you any real advantage in riding all three of them and the world showcase, my favorite part of the park, does not open until 11am, with the exception of Akershus and FEA.

I agree Epcot is too spread out to get a bunch of rides in during EMH. But if you particulrly like one ride, it can be good for that. I have done EMH to ride Soari multiple times in a row with very little wait

Very true, though Soarin' has always been easy for us to get as a 4th, 5th, 6th FP since they added the third theater. Guess it just depends on your preference. But yes, Epcot EMHs feel different to me than EMHs at any other park.

Well in the title it did say EMH not EMM. That made it easy for me.
When we rope drop on our 2nd MK day, we'll be going straight to Peter Pan and then Pooh. I've got a FP for Mine Train and can avoid that herd of people. My objective is to wipe out at least 4 rides before our 9:45 Buzz FP!

Thanks for the responses. Here`s a related question: is EMH better than a regular RD (better in the sense of being able to do more rides)? We will have park hoppers but we won`t want to park hop every single day, and, to me, it`s a given that if you do an EMH, you should change parks about midday.

The only time we did EMH was at AK and it was glorious. We had FoP FP, so we didn’t have to deal with that nonsense.

For me, it depends on the park. At RD, most attractions are open. Fewer are open for EMH, but if they are the ones you like and you can hit them all in quick succession (like I described above at MK), then the morning EMH is worth it. But I think its hard to say whether that's best for you. It all depends on what you're looking to do.

FWIW, I often will hit up the EMH park for the first ninety or hundred minutes that morning, then switch to a different, hopefully less crowded park, for my FP rides and lunch. I don't wait as late as mid-day, but that's usually because I can do most everything I want at the EMH park in an hour and a half

For me....because say at MK Fantasyland is my focus on EMH days...I get LOTS of rides done before the rope drop crowd comes in. And some twice without ever having to get off. Rope drop, I do well there too. So I guess both work equally well for me and my family!

Personally I think I can get more done during an EMH. That crowd is still limited compared to a normal day, and not everyone that can take advantage of an EMH does. Many still sleep in and such.

Frontierland is not open during morning EMH. Only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

You're correct and I was confusing one of my trips at RD with EMH. For EMH, we still skip 7DMT and get on SM and Buzz usualy four times in the first hour. My description for Frontierland is what we usually do at RD.

A big deal for the EMH is that fastpass lines are not open during that hour so standby is not affected by guests with fastpasses.

I think more people like to sleep in and take it easy on vacation, therefore morning EMH are great. Sometimes we do morning EMH and then hop to another park once the crowds roll in.

I EMH all of them, I only do mornings in the parks and rest and enjoy the rest of the day at the resort and pool and dining.

We always take advantage of AM EMH. Like others, we try to knock out several rides that we didn't FP. Once the crowd/weather is something we're ready to leave behind, we grab a bite to eat, swim, and hop to a different park for the evening. We don't always get a ton done, as there've been ride malfunctions at the start or reduced capacity. Most of the time, it's totally worth the early alarm for us.
