If you could only do one Emeril's would it be Emeril's at CityWalk of Tchoup Chop? Any benefits to eating at TC if staying at RPH?

Never tried the Original Emerils, but absolutely LOVE Tchoup Chop

We have been to both on several occasions and prefer Tchoup Chop.

We're the opposite of the pp. We absolutely love Emeril's @ CW & think Emeril should be embarrassed to have his name associated with Tchoup Chop. We've tried it twice thinking the 1st time was just an off night. It was just as bad, if not worse the 2nd time. Truthfully, our experiences @ TC are the worst we've ever had at any "so called" fine dining restaurant.

ETA: To be fair, the filet our DS ordered on our last visit to TC was very good, & the service the 1st visit was great. Unfortunately, that's the only good things we can say about our meals there.

My DW and yongest DS love Emeril but for the prices you have to pay I think its way too expensive for our budget:scared1:

Same here. I'm not going to either place unless someone else is paying the bill. :rotfl:

Don't blame ya cause I was looking at thier menu and the cheapest dish was $35.00:scared1:

I don't know which menu you checked, but Tchoup Chop is less expensive than Emeril's CW. Our meal at TC was less than 1/2 of what our meal @ Emeril's CW cost the next night. Although, we did have wine @ E's CW & not at TC. All the wines we asked for at TC were sold out. :confused3 We think Emeril's CW is worth every penny. TC, not so much.

We have also been to both on several occasions and we prefer Tchoup
chop.

My little list of favs, JMHO:

The best restaurant on property is The Palm at the HRH.

Best restaurant off property is Seasons 52 on Sandlake Drive - about 5 minutes away from USO.

Best place for cocktails is Bar AMerican in the Lobby of the PBH.

Best burgers are at Finnigan's in the Studios accross from ROTM. I eat very few burgers, but I always have to have one here:thumbsup2

LOVE the Palm!! Their hashbrown casserole is soooooo good!

I go with my friends to the one in Miami when we feel like spending way too much money  (this is not often) :rotfl:

I prefer Tchoup Chop (sp?) because I think the theme and atmosphere there is better, or more unique than the regular Emerils. Its a little more creative IMO, plus the tropical atmosphere at the RP is just phenomenal and it blends in with that theme. I dare say the quality of the food is more or less equal. Believe it or not Jakes is also a nice restaurant for a more casual experience at the RP too, I eat at Jakes more than any other place when I'm at the RP. Its cas but great food, great atmosphere as well.

Its one of my favorite places on all of the property. My last favorite was a Salmon on a bed of coconut rice, GREAT stuff. Its very reasonably priced, from what I remember similar to a Applebees or a Olive Garden. Its not as expensive as Tchoup Chop. Not totally dirt cheap though like a McDonalds, of course its a sit down restaurant though so no comparison to a fast food situation.

Been to both a few times. Tchoup Chop is very good but I prefer Emeril's.

LOVE Emeril's I should say.

Last trip we tried the Tasting Menu and it was fantastic. Expensive? Very. Something to do every time? No, but must try it.

Emeril's for me is a must each time I visit WDW/UO.

Note on Tasting Menu - there is not a kid's version (though if they thought it through, they'd do one). This means your kiddo will be finished with their meal a good hour before you are. They really need a kid's tasting menu as it was lots of fun. Just make it with more kid friendly items so they can enjoy the evening as well.

Thanks DockOck cause was just wondering because this year we are staying at RPR for the first time and while we have eaten at citywalk we have never ate at the hotels and expected to pay a little more and have seen alot on jakes and wanted to try them since we will be onsite.

On check-in day, we usually get to the RPR around noon, so its becoming traditional for us to have lunch at Jake's that day. Last time, we got the appetizer sampler to split and then each of us had a salad. If you like chicken wings, be sure to try the Jake Wings. They're very good in out opinion. Those wings are included in the sampler.
