Which DVC would fit us best?

Mom/Dad + 14yo/11yo. When we go on the trip it will be 16/12.
As already mentioned, Bay Lake Tower and Animal Kingdom Kidani are the one-bedroom villas with a second bathroom and second foldout in the living room. Of these, the Kidani Standard View is going to require the least number of DVC points.

If you have younger children, you could go with the least expensive DVC options. AKV-Value will cost the least but is really difficult to book. BWV Standard View is a bit easier to book but costs a bit more. If this was available, this would put you within walking distance of Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

OKW tends to cost about the same as BWV Standard View and requires using the bus to get to any theme park. It feels a bit more like a Moderate Resort.

If you can get it, I'd try for a one-bedroom "Standard View" villa at BWV. It only has one bathroom but you should love the location, and it will cost less than any Monorail Resort. If you tell me when you are going, I can post some DVC point totals for you so you can get an idea of relative cost.

Here's some images from our last stay in a one-bedroom in December 2020.

For 1-bedroom, I have 2 suggestions. Check out walk through videos of the ones you are interested in.

Riviera: The living room is very large and has a Murphy bed. So, easy to revert back into a living room. Nice access via the Skyliner. New resort.

Bay Lake: Extra bathroom. Great location. The living room beds are pull-outs, so less comfortable and more cumbersome to put back.
