We have previously stayed at Kidani and enjoy it there. But since this time we have a baby with us we thought it might be more convenient to stay closer to MK and EPCOT.

Here is the problem. We prefer to only rent a 1 bedroom, but our two older children are of the opposite sex and prefer not to share a pullout sofa to sleep in. So we need a property that had an additional sleeper chair or pulldown bed?? The baby will be in a crib.

Also, Can we stay in a room without such accommodations and request a cot? Or do they not do that?

OKW, BLT & VGF have the sleeper chair or pulldown in 1 bedrooms.

DVC does not have cots. You could bring an air bed.

We take air mattresses for the kids, but ours are little and can sleep on them for a week comfortably. You could take one and make the kids switch off on who needs to sleep on it.

Thanks! The disney website does NOT mention the sleeper chair at BLT. I wonder why. Is it the orange chair in the pictures?

From the member website:

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
1 Bedroom Villa - Theme Park View
Offering dramatic views and modern innovations, Bay Lake Tower provides a truly sleek experience.
Sleeps 5
1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size sleeper sofa & 1 sleeper chair
Full kitchen
Washer/dryer
2 full bathrooms, including master with whirlpool tub

The Disney website doesn't list it specifically but it says sleeps up to 5. The chair is for the 5th person.

The studios at VGF and VWL also have the pull down Murphy bed in case you want to save points. But then you would all be sleeping in the same room.

OP already mentioned staying at Kidani, but just for completeness I wanted to mention that the one-bedroom suites at both Kidani and Jambo at Animal Kingdom Lodge (except for the Value rooms) also have a sleeper chair.
