We wanna try another resort for one night before our April vacation at the poly. They are all currently available for the one night. If you could stay at any dvc studio with the exception of vwl and poly which would you pick and why?
Tia !!

If I was enjoying the resort, AKV. If I was eating in the World Showcase or on the Boardwalk, BCV or BWV. If I was visiting the Magic Kingdom, BLT.

So, it depends.

It would be to enjoy the resort. We wouldn't be at any parks. Just taking in the atmosphere and maybe the pool.

AKV is great with all the animals (if you have kids), and in the lobby of Jambo.

Depending on your preference:
1. AKV
2. BCV
3. BWV
4. BLT or GFV

AKL if you prefer quieter. Both Kidani and Jambo....but Jambo's lobby is so awesome and more dining options. And you can see the animals from many places around both resorts, so a savanna view is not necessary (I discovered a viewing area behind one of the hot tubs at Jambo....had no idea it was there, I'm sure everyone else in the world knows it's there).

BWV if your family would enjoy the hustle and bustle at night along the BoardWalk, along with some great restaurants. The pool on the Inn side is beautiful and very quiet, while the clown pool can be crowded and noisy. The community hall by the Villa quiet pool is a great place too. Roasting marshmallows at the firepit at night!

If you are just wanting to enjoy the resort I'd go with AKV, the only reason we don't stay there more often is we don't like taking a bus to the parks but it is a beautiful resort with good food and loads to see.

So I asked my kids when they got home and they said without hesitation the grand Floridian which surprised me! So I went on to book it and of course it's no longer available! Ugh! So then then kept debating between beach club and animal kingdom. They wanted beach clubs pool and they like the idea of a savanna view room! Which would be easier to transfer to the poly? Or am I just being stupid and should I just book another night at the poly? I wanted to try something different. My dh is obsessed with the poly and booking there is what makes him ok with going to wdw so often so I gotta keep him happy but I'm really interested in seeing what else dvc has to offer! He has only stayed at the poly as far as dvc goes so I'm wondering if he could have other favorites if I could just get him to try other resorts ! Thank you for all of the great suggestions! I appreciate the great feedback!

Bell services will transfer your luggage anywhere you want them to. There is no resort to resort buses so no matter where you stay you are either going to have to take a bus to a park then to the resort or take a taxi or uber. Most people have their luggage transferred then head off to whatever park they planned on visiting that day. I drive down so for me it's just a matter of throwing my suitcase in the car, driving over to resort #2 and checking in and going about my business. I just grab my luggage when I get back from wherever I spent the day.

The DVC studios located at AKL/Jambo are quite large. However, a savanna view can be disappointing, as many of the animals do not appear in the mornings because they are having their check-ups. As a PP said, you can have bell services transfer your luggage to the Poly and then from AKL you can take a bus to MK, hang around there for a bit, then take a poly boat or the monorail when you are ready to go to the Poly. OR you can spend the early morning at the AK theme park, and then take the resort bus from there to the Poly. Or...take a bus from AKL to Epcot and spend some time there and then take the monorail to the TTC and walk to the Poly or transfer to the resort monorail.

Same thing if you stay at BCV. Either take a bus to MK....or go to Epcot thru back entrance, spend a little time there and then take the monorail.

Unless, of course, if you have a car. Then I would spend more time at AKL and enjoy the resort after throwing the luggage in the car, and then head over to Poly after lunch time.

OKW for two real beds. We did that a few weeks ago when we stopped to see our son before heading to the beach for a week.

definitely AKV! beautiful resort, fascinating CMs, very good dining options - perfect for that sort of visit!

I would suggest either BWV or SSR.

BWV- Not only is it easier on the pocketbook, by staying there, you have a huge selection of food options that you just don't get if you stay at some of the other resorts. Plus a little bit of shopping and the candy shop is always a hit. And, not only do you get to enjoy one resort, you have the opportunity to enjoy three great resorts. Maybe dinner at the Swan or Dolphin. Dessert at Beaches and Cream. You can also get some great views of Illuminations. Or there is the Dance Hall and Jellyrolls.

SSR- I would suggest this because you could enjoy an evening at Downtown Disney with ease. Perhaps you could catch a movie at the Dine-In theater or go to Splitsville for bowling. Or just head over there for shopping and food.

Between Beach Club and AKL? That's tough. I guess for all the reasons I mentioned for BWV above, I would say Beach Club.

At first I was going to say VGF as it is definitely something everyone should try, but since you will be staying at PVB afterwards why stay in a monorail resort? Is it a park day for you? If yes to the parks, perhaps an Epcot resort. Other wise for a resort day I would suggest AKV or even SSR so you can shop or dine at DTD.

For one night I would do AKV savanna view. We did a 1BR last dec with our DD and she loved it. Every morning she would wake up and the first thing she would say is lets go see the animals. We would sit out on the balcony for at least an hour every morning while I drank coffee and she just watched the animals walk around. She was so excited about it. It was by far the best memories I have yet had on a Disney trip and really made me really appericate my purchase into DVC.
