Which DVC Resort is best with small children?

AKL, SSR and BCV have zero entry pools, the rest don't. To me that's big with little ones.

VWL is closest to the MK.

BCV and BWV are a walk into Epcot and MGM - but some little kids aren't fond of those parks.

Another question is when are you going? If you are planning on going in the next six months, your choices may be simply limited by availablity at the resorts. DVC books pretty solid year round. Sometimes people do a lot of work trying to pick the perfect resort, only to discover that the resort they set their heart on doesn't have availability that trip.

I have three children under 6 (twins 4 yrs old) and I love BCV. The pool there is the best on property by far. Its soo good my kids sometimes don't want to go to the parks they just want to stay at the pool. They love sitting in the zero entry pool and digging or paddling. The life guards play games w/them. My older DS loves the slide and the twins insist their doind it this year :scared1: One afternoon we'll stay at the pool for hours having lunch and drinks (nice one for Mommy ;) brought to us at the poolside from Hurricane Hannahs. The kids think its so cool that the waitress brings their food and they can eat and swim at the same time.My kids are a little different and they love EPCOT. They love Turtle Talk , The free coke place (I'm blanking on the new name it used to be Ice Station Cool). The Living Seas, Journey to Imagination, Spaceship Earth (I don't know why but they love it), They love innoventions and speaking to all the people at WS. They love Beaches & Cream (incredible sundaes). They really like the as they call it Goofy breakfast at Cape May. I love the gelato at the Beach Club Marketplace. We also will walk to the WS at night (5 min walk) to get dessert at night and the kids love trying different countries desserts and then we vote on who's is best). Epcot is a 5 min walk to WS or a short boat ride. MGM is a short boat ride. BCV,BC and YC have their own bus so it was never a long wait. I have owned at BCV for 6 yrs or more and we love it.

That said I also think VWL is a good choice for young kids because it is so close to MK. We have had great visits there. No matter where you choose I think you'll be happy.

What is a zero entry pool?

The definition can apply to any pool that has an entrance without steps that gradually deepens into the water.

I personally have only seen the one at Vero Beach (for young ones) and that one is more like a big puddle of water with water fountains and child amusing props. I don't think it gets more than a couple inches deep.

BCV, AKL and SSR all have fairly large zero entry pools - which means there is part of the pool where the entry slopes downward - beach like. This means that a smaller child can sit in the very shallow part of the pool and splash - or walk out to their waist.

Many of the Disney pools are relatively deep - my kids at eight and nine still can't stand in the middle of the Boardwalk Pool and couldn't do any more than play on the steps until they were five or six or so. There are kiddie pools at the other resorts - but the zero entry is so much nicer.

SSR and SAB also have smaller kid slides in addition to their big slide. Also very nice for little ones.
