Of course this is purely personal opinion but I am curious your thoughts... which DVC resort has the most bang for buck for teens to enjoy themselves -- and why?

I never know if I aught post in Mousecellaneous or Planning so sorry if this is in the wrong place!

I would say either:

Beach Club/Boardwalk Villas ---> access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios

OR

SSR/OKW ---> proximity to DTD for shopping, restaurants, Disney Quest, movies, etc.

I would also say a lot depends on if they are boys or girls - my almost 13 year old says DTD is her favorite place b/c of the shopping! :)

Its really according to the teenagers.

I LOVE Boardwalk! However, I think Downtown Disney has a better "teen" feel to it, especially late teens or early adults.

I voted for SSR, but if your kids are more like 12 or 13...go with Boardwalk, or even BC for SAB!

I have 2 teenage daughters, late teens...our last trip we stayed at BWV which we all love, but they were constantly taking a bus to DTD and it seemed like we were always waiting up for them to come back from DTD, so with that in mind I'd vote for SSR for the quick easy walk or boat ride to DTD.
My teens just love teh shopping and atmosphere of DTD, so I can only go by that!:)

since most teens still like to swim and they are good at it - then BCV - SALB

that is if your teens prefer EPcot or studios over MK.

if they don't then BLT - but don't think teens would be impressed with BLT pool.

I'd say one of the Epcot resorts if you are willing to let them go into Epcot/DHS by themselves. :thumbsup2

Probably SSR if they are getting complete free reign to go anywhere they want w/out you - because of DTD/DQ - access to movies, shopping AND good bus service to the waterparks.

I asked this same question as I was booking a ressie for DD and 3 friends all highschool grads this year and the overwhelming response was BWV or BCV. I was able to get the last studio at BWV for the week and my DD asked if it was easy to get to DTD (boat ride or walk) Now I am second guessing their location.

Saratoga springs would be my choice for teens. DTD is the reason.

We've been to all DVCs on site except for BCV and BLT. My 16yo DD says for her the best for teens is SSR hands down. She loves the pools and nearby shopping. I asked about BWV/BVC and being close to her favorite parks: EPCOT and HS and she still said SSR was her favorite.

the teens in our family all picked the BWVs as their favorite (lots to do, including community hall, walk to 2 parks, BW shows/activities, great main pool and 2 quiet pools, bakery/snacks, etc). with cel phones, they can wander off on their own a bit :thumbsup2
none care for the BCVs b/c of the high noise level, and that it is more geared toward little kids.
SSR is also a great choice, but no resort has the plethora of to-do's like the BW.

Mine prefer the BWV, hands down favorite! At night we walk around and they bycicle or hang out on the Boardwalk. I agree with L schrow, with their cells phones, we give them more freedom to roam around without worrying about them too much!

Ok what to do, what to do. How difficult is it to get to DTD from BWV? The girls will have 6 full days and plan on getting 6 day hopper pass along with 2 days of water parks with no expiration that I have already. The girls were going back and forth with just getting a MYW 6 day or PH and being next to Epcot and HS the PH won out. If they were to stay at SSR they probably would only need 6 day MYW (thus save money) and after there day in the park go to DTD. Too many choices, my guide told me that SSR studios are bigger is that correct? How are the balconies? The have reserved a preferred garden view BWV for them right not.

My DS(14) is just at the stage to want to be by himself.

He loved SAB but this year he was not that interested in joining us at the pool.

I would say BWV first and BCV 2nd at this point. BUT:

We stopped at Margaritaville in Universal for dinner (hands down the best cheeseburgers we have ever had) and he really wants to spend a couple days in Universal - it really is a more active / exciting park for teens. Then when he is old and retired he can go back to the Food & Wine Festival at WDW.:rotfl::rotfl:

I voted for BCV due to the actual resort and SAB.. but now that I'm reading some of the replies, perhaps SSR would be the better choice.. this is good news.. as SSR is our home resort, and (thank God) we still have several more years before our boys are teenagers.

DD and friends will not have transportation to go to Universal but other then my DD the girls have not been to Disney since they were little and are excited. I was trying to do best by them having 2 parks within walking distance and they can also take monorail from Epcot to MK so they do not have to wait on buses for very many things. when we 1st started looking OKW and SSR were the only resorts available for the whole week and DD was fine and glad they were near DTD. I think I convinced her of the convivence of being near 2 parks (she is used to hopping the boat to MK and the contemporary and loves that convience) But with that said we always had a car and went to DTD at least 3 - 4 times during our stays. Oh well I will talk to the girls again and really see what their priorities are.

:)
I thought about what my DD would like...
I opted for the BC...mini water park, great slide, close proximity
to EPCOT & a short ride/walk to BW area at night...perfect for
a teenager!

I picked OKW because you asked about the resort and I guess you want to know what it has to offer as a resort.

OKW has quiet and main pools
basketball court (only 3 have them)
shuffle board
tennis
video games/game room
weight room
bikes to rent
boats to rent
DTD is a walk/boat ride or bus ride away

Having posted this I have 3 teenagers. One DD and 2 DS's Boys hated BLT and Jambo House because of no bb courts. Very important to them to have time away from parents. SS was too big to find stuff (their opinion). And they are old enough to find their way around to all the parks. DH and I met our DS13 at WL one evening. We were out and about and he came from OKW. Had no problem with him on transportation by himself.
