Despite the fact that I would personally love to stay at/buy points at a ski resort, that doesn't seem very Disney.
They should stick to what they do best: park resorts. Hence I voted for DLH & DLP since WDW already has a bunch of resorts. However, Tokyo DL and HK DL would be great choices as well ... can you imagine doing not only a park grand slam (visit all the Disney park locations in the world) but a DVC park grand slam? How awesome would that trip be! :thumbsup2
The previous thread on this topic mentioned the concept of a DCL DVC which, while its a very cool idea for consumers it seems logistically near impossible (and why would Disney want to effectively freeze prices on the cruises?). Thought it might be an interesting footnote on this thread though it makes sense that you didn't put it in the new poll.

Voted other, as I am another that would vote for Grand Floridian if it was on poll. I was talking to a DVC guide who told me he laughs at the rumor of National Harbor as a DVC component. He said DVC has never considered nor will they consider National Harbor as a DVC component. He said it would never generate enough interest to be worthwhile.

I voted "other" because I would love see a DVC resort somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic. National Harbor would meet the bill, but I am not partial to it. I would actually prefer Williamsburg over National Harbor.

I also selected "Disneyland Paris". I would love to see DVC resorts at all of the Disney theme parks, including Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and the soon to be Shanhai resort.

Next DVC should be where they build the next theme park..also they should expand monorail and build a new DVCon it!!

Ooo I would also have voted for the Epcot monorail option had I read the whole thing more carefully !

mine would be a ship just for DVC! A dream I know..but it's just my wish. :goodvibes

I would love a resort with a New Orleans theme, located anywhere on the WDW property. :lovestruc

Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter???

Unless you want more authenticity with staggering drunks and people urinating in the doorways....

I like your thinking, but for a few hundred bucks, you could get what's listed below with a Wyndham resale purchased on eBay. In addition, you'd get about 60 more resorts, including TEN in Hawaii, Vegas, Steamboat Springs, San Francisco, etc, etc.
National Harbor -- Ok, I admit it. I'm a history nut. There are so many things that I want to see and do in that part of the country. I want to re-visit our nation's capital.
Already built -- National Harbor, and better yet, Old Town Alexandria directly across the street from a Metro station.
I want to see Philadelphia and Amish country, and lots of places there.
4 resorts in the Poconos
Also, Atlantic City, NJ, which isn't too far from Philly
the Gulf Coast
New Orleans - 2 resorts
Destin, FL - 4 resorts
Panama City Beach - 1 resort
or the Tennessee Mountains
Nashville - 1 resort
TN mountains - 3 resorts
Also, North Carolina mountains - 2 more resorts
I'd love to have DVC ...on the New England coast.
Newport, RI - 6 resorts
Inland in New England, you have one in the Berkshires (MA) and Smuggler's Notch, VT

My point is, DVC excels where there is a clear nexus with something DISNEY. Once you branch out from that, you're in the general vacation market and the general timeshare market...and there are many better and less expensive options.

I voted Poly first, then another at Disneyland (not that I've been there in 20+ years) and other, thinking something in a desert (New Mexico, Arizona) somewhere. Like a ranch theme.

Ah, the smells of Bourbon, St. Peters, Dauphine Street, etc,; urine and vomit. :rotfl:
We lived in Cajun country for several years and while I loved it, my vote for a new DVC resort would be French Quarter style.

I really don't want the existing WDW land to hold a lot more vacationers. Don't y'all think the parks are way too crowded as it is? Adding more buses, boats, etc... without more park space is not really appealing to me. Put the money into another park, or if it has to be DVC buildings then put them in distant locales.

I actually look at it from exactly the opposite perspective. Not that I enjoy standing in lines, but it's only crowded parks that will lead to new and improved attractions. I don't think we'll ever see a 5th park at WDW, but I do want them to continue improving and growing the ones they have. Every person walking through the front gate turnstile makes the chance of that a little better.

I really don't think Disney/DVC building additional rooms at WDW is necessarily increasing park admissions, though. It's a matter of them trying to gain more of the market share, and grabbing folks who otherwise would have stayed off property.

I'm in, now shut the door?

Not what I meant, I was referring to more specifically to the monorail/MK area. I'd be fine with DVC branching out to other sites so there's more to choose from.

But now that you mention it, do you propose that it continue to grow forever? I'm not sure that I like that idea. There will always be resales available, right?
