Farm Town came first, but honestly, I like Farmville better. It's easier to navigate, and I don't have to "buy" supplies to help on my friends farm.

Plus, it doesn't look like you can "harvest" any of the animals on Farm Town, where on Farmville, you can make some money with the animals you own.

I just started playing and have tried both. Farmville seems more user friendly to me as a newbie.

Most certainly Farm Town!!

And not being able to "harvest" animals is one reason I love Farm Town - 20 year vegetarian here! :cool1:

In fact, I was horrified when I realized that you could click on some animals and there was an option called "eat." DD had to show me that it made the ANIMALS eat ... not you eating the animal! :rotfl2:

:lmao: I freaked out when I saw eat too!! I am too lazy to start back at level 1 so I'll keep up with farmtown only.

Farmtown for me - Farmville is too cartooney for me plus u must have 8 neighbors to expand I don't like that.

I do both. Farm Ville is much less time consuming!

I like the animal option. More cash, and it's not like you eat them or anything! I'm a 20+ year vegetarian too and I'm not offended by collecting imaginary truffles, eggs, milk, wool from animal shaped pixels. LOL! That being said, I also wouldn't "eat" a cartoon animal. So, far my Farm Ville animals are all free range. We'll see if that holds. My Farm Town animals have started moving into corrals. ;)

Do these cost actual money to play? I just can't figure them out...

Darn - I didn't know that! I've been selling my animals because I can't fit them on the farm!

No. They are in the applications part of Facebook. You "earn" money by planting crops and harvesting them. You are also given money each day to add to your account. You can buy crops and pay to plow your fields with the money and in turn sell your crops to earn a greater return depending on what you plant.

I would like to mash the two programs together. I like the ease of Farmville but the look of Farmtown. I also like the animal options in Farmville.

I prefer FarmTown, but that's probably because I'm at level 29 and don't want to get too wrapped up in a different farming game until I complete this one.

FarmTown!!:cool1: But, I must admit I will not even look at Farmville. I am addicted enough to FT without adding something else!! I have a My Farm plot but very seldom go on it, but still.... I check it once in a while.

Farmville! It's so much easier than Farm Town to maintain. I play both at least once a day and it's much easier to harvest and plant on my Farmville farm than the one on Farm Town.

Definitely FarmVille. I love that you can get ahead of yourself when working your farm and the walk away while your Yo does the work. I find it tiresome on FarmTown getting the "wait I'm Busy" response if I click a new plot too soon. I also like how in FarmVille you do not need to pick up your scythe or hoe to plow and harvest- it just automatically uses the right tool. Also, you just harvest- you don't have to select how you want to harvest or go to the market to cash in on your crops. I hate that I can't expand my farm though- that part is better in FarmTown.

After reading this thread today, I started on Farm Ville. I'm at level 28 on Farm Town, but I think I'm liking Farm Ville pretty good, too. I have a question, though. What's the difference between coins and cash? How do you earn cash?

I don't think you can earn cash- you have to buy it. You don't need it though, there are alot of things for coins.

I noticed Farm Town has been updgraded. I like it. You can get ahead of yourself now. :thumbsup2

I agree with Ann. Farmtown is enough of a time suck for me! I don't know how I'd keep up with both of them and real life.
