Which Disney Deluxe would you stay at for 4 nights with boys 6-8 (visiting all 4 parks while staying at a Disney Hotel) in April with a split stay at the end at the Four Seasons for 2 nights (downtime, no parks enjoying the pools)?

Keep in mind we go to Disneyland every year and stay at the Grand Californian or Disneyland Hotel. Disneyworld is a 1x every few years trip for our family.

Are you saying the 2 nights at the end you are not visiting the parks? I’m guessing that is the case. So I am answering based on park access. Decide which park you will spend most of the time in and go from there. At that age we preferred The Boardwalk or Beach Club as there was quick access to two parks and with a hopper to three when you add a walk and a monorail ride.

? Going to WDW in April and ending with the 2 night stay at the Waldorf?
The most unique would be the Contemporary with monorail gliding thru middle plus watching all the “activity “ with monorail, boats, busses , etc arriving 24/7 plus the stars & sunrise sunset & fireworks !
You can rent a pontoon for one hour ( easy to drive believe it or not)… Monorail also gives you access to other resorts for dining , etc.
The new Riviera Resort with access to the SkyLiner also has a fun new childrens play area for pool activity. And close to HS and Epcot.
The AK Lodge might be different in comparison to DL.

OP modified original post so my prior comment has been addressed.

Disney parks are HUGE and 4 consecutive park days will be MILES of walking. Maybe plan for one day without any parks?

So you’re staying at a deluxe for 2 nights but no parks?

The Beach/Yacht club has an awesome pool I think that they would like. It has sand on the bottom, there’s a lazy River, and the slide is awesome.

My daughter also really loved the Polynesian when we stayed and you can see the magic kingdom fireworks from the beach. The pool there is really nice too and the slide is very fast. She liked it more for the Moana rooms, so I don’t know how much boys would be into that.

I would pick the Polynesian. They have a splash slide area which is designed for your 6 year old. They have a Volcano slide also which will keep their minds off from the castle and space mountain which they can see from the hotel. Poly also has a large quiet pool with lots of shade. At night, the monorail will give you access to good quick service dining and also sit down dining options for every dress code from $ to $$$$. Just keep in mind that if you want a suite, I think the bungalow may be the only option at the Poly and that would be hard to get if Easter/Passover week.

Since you are used to Grand Cal, then you don't need WL. I would have suggested that.

Beach Club is great for the pool and amazing location to Epcot and HS. If they are good swimmers, then I would definitely consider that. However, some of those rooms are showing wear and tear.

I would probably recommend a newer or more recently refurbished hotel - Riviera (skyliner), GF (may be too "stuffy" for boys, but great location) OR just go for Animal Kingdom because both sides are great and boys will probably enjoy the animals and vibe. Downside is transportation.

I think you need to clarify. If I were to stay at FS it would be for the pools, then move to a Disney Deluxe for the parks.

Are you staying at FS for the pools no parks OR after Four Seasons & parks, you want a Disney resort based on their pools?

nix this, I thought you meant two days without parks at Disney Pools. Thanks Hopper Fan

Those are my pics too ! Yacht Club or Poly .
Yacht Club has access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios . The Stormalong Bay pool is amazing for kids . We like to stay by the admiral pool . It’s like having your own pool and hot tub . Great between park visits during the day . We love taking the boat to HS . It’s such a convenient location.

Poly is beautiful with great food offerings . It’s small enough to be enjoyable. The whole atmosphere is lovely . Perfect location to MK and the other hotels on the monorail line for dinner .

Yes,
4 Nights at a Deluxe + visiting parks
2 Night at FS (no parks, just pool and lazy river time)
That is what I would do too.

Since your second part is parks focused, if looking at location. I think they'd enjoy Wilderness Lodge, but Contemporary or Poly are great locations to MK.

If you want something very unique I'd stay at AKL Savannah view room, waking up to animals is a memory maker. Then you bus to each park but none of the rides are bad.

I say contemporary. Monorail through the resort is awesome for young ones. Very quick and easy access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Can also watch the fireworks right from the resort if you so choose. Room also have a subtle Incredibles theme which id imagine young boys would like. Another good option if they are into animals in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You get to watch animals right from your balcony, and the resort is beautiful with amazing architecture.

Personally not a Poly fan. It’s a great place and location. We experienced a lot of pool crashers from the TTC when we were there and made the pool extremely crowded. The quick serve was insane with TTC people too. The best pool on property is hands down at Beach/Yatch. Boardwalk is cool for nightlife acts and street shows and the pool isn’t overly crowded. All three are walking distance to Epcot and HS.

You're doing 4 parks in 4 days. Your resort time is going to be minimal. I'm not sure what deluxe resort matters in that aspect other than "will hopefully be close to a couple of parks."

I would honestly plan my resort on what my last 2 park days were, as I'd want to be close to those as possible.

I always book AKL, but when I did it and did 4 parks in 4 days like you're planning, i can tell you I cared not about the amenities at my hotel by day 3 or day 4 other than "is the air conditioning good and does the quick service have something we want to eat for dinner so we can go to sleep."

I would let that be my guide, and save your amenity money for the FS days (I'd probably book Poly instead for those 2 days but you do you)
