We are planning Deluxe again in July- no flames we like 3 meals a day and our kids are great at restaurants.

We did HDDR and love it, we knew food was would just be okay and it was fine. Would anyone recommend Spirt of Aloha or Mickey's BBQ instead.

Mickey's BYBBQ. Had a great time here.:cool1: The show at the poly & the food has been the same forever. We didn't care for it. It's been years since I been back. Had friends go last year and said the same thing.

Well, if they flame you - they'll have to flame me too! I couldn't decide betwen Hoop De Doo and Spirit of Aloha (which I've read very good reviews on as well as the bad ones...so I think i'll judge for myself)...
So we're going to do both!

Laure I agree. I try things for myself. Everybody likes different things. Have fun.:cool1:

I agree as well. I was surprised in the past at some of the things people complained about regarding various dining experiences, service or food, when we had completely different (and much more positive) experiences. It is really difficult to rate food because everyone has different tastes - I would hardly give that a second thought unless you consistently see that food is described as bad for other reasons (not fresh, cold when it should have been hot, etc.).

As for the overall experience, I would vote in favor of trying Spirit of Aloha at least once. We've done it a couple times and have loved it. When you arrive, you are given a lei and have the opportunity to get a family photo and a drink while you wait to be seated. The area where you wait for seating is outdoors, nicely landscaped, has tiki torches and I believe Polynesian music piped in. It's a very festive island-y feeling if you like that kind of thing. Looking around, you may even believe you're standing in Hawaii or one of the islands. Once you are led to your table, you are served almost immediately. The coconut bread is, in my opinion, to die for. The show is very entertaining with fire twirlers, hula dancers and a story that goes along with the whole thing. I can see if you've been there multiple times how that same story line may get old, but if you've never been there I think you can't help but to be entertained. It's a fun night out and especially nice if you choose to boat back to MK to get your resort bus. I would say it is definitely worth a night out of the parks and away from the crowds!

We love Spirit of Aloha! It's not for everyone, but it is a great time. Our neice (8) went with us and had a blast.

We did not like the Aloha show. The food was fine and the atmosphere was great but the show was way too long. My dd fell asleep during it! We all loved HDDR.
