We'll be going to WDW from March 24th to the 31st, 2011 with my parents. My mom has celiac, and I was wondering which dinner show would be best for her? Hoop De Doo, Mickey's BBQ or Aloha Dinner show.

We'll be going to Epcot that day, and staying in the tree-houses at Saratoga Springs. We'll be using Disney transportation.

I was just at WDW last week and did the Hoop-de-Doo Review and the Spirit of Aloha. I eat GF although I'm not a fully-diagnosed celiac.

At HDD, instead of the cornbread, I got a tapioca roll. Instead of the fried chicken, I had two lovely grilled chicken breasts. The mashed potatoes were okay and dessert was a GF brownie.

At Spirit of Aloha, the salad and dressing are okay, and instead of the bread, I got another tapioca roll. I got a separate plate of rice and veggies along with some grilled chicken and ribs without sauce (but they were nicely seasoned). I had a fruit plate for dessert instead of the GF brownie.

Have you contacted the Special Diet folks at Disney? They will give you all sorts of details, as well as an Allergy Form to complete with all your ADRs.

My husband eats GF as well and his favorite place to go is anywhere in Disney. Our last trip every table service place we went to had a chef come out and talk to him about his choices or walk the buffet line with him.

We've never done a dinner show, but it seems like the same service happens there (according to the post above this).

Enjoy your trip - one piece of advice - it took forever for my husband to get a GF hamburger bun at the Electric Umbrella in EPCOT. nice that they offer that, but wow - I was waiting forever for our food! I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal if you don't have any young kids waiting to eat! That was our only "not great" experience with his diet restriction.

At any of the shows I am sure you can order a special meal for her with advance notice (I believe at any of the dinner shows, they must have advance notice. If you just show up and then have special dietary requests, it's possible they won't be able to meet them. See the reference to contacting Disney Special Diets in one of the above post - there is contact information on the DISAbilites board)
