Which dining plan?

We are booking our first trip to DisneyWorld on Friday. We are going March 3rd - 9th. There is two adults and 2 children (ages 4 and 5).

I thought I was set on the dining plan but now I am not so sure. I was going to do just the dining but if I am reading correctly it is for how many nights you are there not days. So since we are staying 6 nights and 7 days we only have enough meals for 6 days. Is that correct? I thought it covered how many days you were there but not sure now.

If it is only for 6 days I am considering doing the Deluxe Dining. But not sure if it is worth it.

Any help on deciding would be great! Want to have everything finalized by Friday morning. Thanks!!!

the number of meals on the plan is calculated by the number of nights you book. the credits are good until midnight on your checkout day.

it works out for most people because they arrive around mid day on day one and leave about the same time on their last day. depending on the timing of your travel plans, you probably will not need three meals at disney for day one and day seven.

the thing you might want to check on before you decide is availability of the places you might want to eat. spring break is a busy season and there was free dining offered for this time period. you may well have trouble getting into your first choice restaurants. it is kind of miserable to have all those table service credits and not be able to use them easily where you want to eat.

I have used the Deluxe before, and you get a ton of food. The past few times we went we used the regular Dining plan and it works out well for us.

We are planning to get there early enough the first day that we would need two meals and leave late enough the last day to need two meals.

With the Deluxe can it be used on Quick Service as well? We are planning one table service a day (maybe two some days) plus one night having pizza delivered to our room.

I am stressing out with this decision. LOL! I was all set with the Plus Dining and am now doubting myself.

Don't stress!!! Think about the timing of your day. If you have 2 table service meals in one day, that will take a lot more time than if you just did one table service and one counter service in a day (less park time!) We've always ever done the regular dining plan, and even that has been too much food, and we're usually scrambling on the last day getting a ton of food to make sure we don't waste any of our meals/snacks! Budget-wise, if you are flexible enough to buy the deluxe, then I'd say go for it...you can look into booking some signature dinners, or Cinderella's castle!!!

Ok I think we will stick with the Plus Dining. We can do a quick service meal the day we arrive and a table service the day we leave. We were planning do do breakfast at the resort unless we have a table service breakfast booked elsewhere. I think eating at the resort will save us some money (I hope).

Just to add to your stress (and to save you money!!) you can use a grocery service that will deliver you whatever you want for your entire stay. We usually get milk and cereal/oatmeal, some granola bars, coffee/tea, and a few other snacks. That way you can have breakfast in your room while everyone is getting ready, save money, and start the day off fresh as soon as you leave your room! Just a thought! (we like gordengrocer.com)

We will definitally have to check that out! Thanks!

Hubby is probably about ready to cancel the whole thing if he has to listen to me any longer. LOL!

I think I will feel better once everything is booked and ready to go. I have been planning for months now. Had everything planned and then the resort we wanted booked up on days we needed. So had to start over again.

I hate that!! We actually just ran into the same problem, but were able to book in an upgraded room category without hurting our budget too badly!!!
Good luck! And I know the feeling of a frustrated hubby!!! It'll all be worth it when you see that magical sparkle in your kids eyes!!!

I think you'll be satisfied with the Plus Dining plan. We sometimes have a difficult time getting in one table service and on quick service meal each day. Even when we have reservations for each day. The quick service meals are a lot of food. I often get a piece of fruit or a bottle of water instead of desert. I can't tell you how many times we buy meals for strangers on our last day just to use up our credits. When we went this past fall, we discovered that by the last night we had enough table service credits to go to a signature restaurant. Have fun!

Just booked a moderate resort with free quick service dining plan. The next plan up (I think it was the Plus Plan) was an extra $15 per person per night. Can someone please explain what I get for Quick service and what extra you get for Plus? This is very confusing!
