Which deluxe...

In terms of the best room view, that would be a Magic Kingdom view room in the Tower of the Contemporary. Here is a pic from my families Magic Kingdom view room from August 2006 up on the 12th floor, in room #4840.

So if you want to make a reservation for that specific view, make them fast because they sell out quickly and a lot of rooms get booked up fast because of conventions.

Ahhh okay, I got the OK to decide where we get to stay, so I have ruled out YC, BC, and GF because we have stayed there before. I'm thinking about CR, Poly, and AKL! Thanks for all of your help! I need to make a decision by the end of the day so I can call tonight and have everything set. This is kind of last minute since we will be going in March, so my top choices may not even be available! What are the best rooms/views in Poly, CR, and AKL? Thanks everyone sooo much:)

I would choose the AKL or Polynesian. They both have great pool areas. The theming at the PR is fantastic, although the AKL has the absolutely best theming of all WDW resorts. It's the ONLY resort in North America with that type of theme, so it's a truly unique experience. There are a ton of things you can do in that resort, in all honesty you could spend three or four days there without being bored.

The location of the PR might be a little better though, if for no other reason, the MK fireworks are designed to be displayed straight on, so they are best seen at the Polynesian.

The best views are Arushka Rock savanah view at the AKL, and MK Lagoon view at the PR. MK tower at the CR, but I think the CR lacks the charm and theming of most of the other resorts. It was designed with a "futuristic feel," which was at the time futuristic. It's now the future, and the resort feels sterile and dated to many people, myself included.

One thing you forgot to mention was the fact all the rooms at the Contemporary went threw a major renovation and look nothing like they did 5 years ago. I realize that I can't change you're opinion about the Contemporary, however I think calling their rooms sterlile is a bit un fair since the Resort is changing the way they look on the inside.

I've seen the updated rooms, and they actually look less Disney and more Hilton now than they did before. The rooms look generic. I've booked a chain hotel in California for an upcoming trip, and the rooms look almost identical to the ones at the CR.

Thanks alot for the help! I think with CR it just depends on your opinion. My father HATES that theming that most Disney resorts have and cannot wait to stay @ CR because of that. I know other people thought that say if they are going to Disney they want everything to feel like they are Disney. I think it just depends on your taste, and I like both which is why I am having such a hard time deciding!

OK our final choices are:

1. Poly
2. CR
3. WL
4. AKL

After talking about where we will be eating dinner and everythig we decided that a MK resort would be best. If anyone has ay convincing arguments why I should choose one over the other before we call tomorrow, let me know! And thanks again for all of your help!

I say go with what your 1st choice would be, since all the WDW Resorts are special in their own way.

I'm a big fan of walking/monorailing to parks (perhaps because we have young children/double stroller....), so I'd probably choose the Poly out of your choices (you indicated an MK resort would be best for you, so I ruled out AKL). At Poly, you can see the Castle from the pool, which is pretty cool. You can watch Wishes from the beach or from Ohana restaurant or even your balcony depending on your room location. The pool has a nice theme. The rooms are large and newly renovated. The restaurants are very good at Poly. TTC is connected to Poly so you have direct monorail access to both MK and Epcot, no stops or transfers. Poly has a relaxing Hawaiin theme.

Having said that, if you don't mind taking buses rather than monorails, WL is an extraordinary resort. It has a rustic feel as though you are deep in the woods, yet you are only minutes away from MK. You can take a boat to MK, otherwise you take a bus everywhere. Great theming, great restaurants.

Of course if you don't mind living out of your suitcase for a bit, you can try "resort hopping" and split your stay between 2 or more!

I'd choose the Polynesian if you really want a MK resort. I've stayed at every resort on your list, and as far as the MK resorts go, the PR on that list would be my choice. You can walk from there to the GF, so you can enjoy the dining, spa, tennis, beach, marina, etc. of both resorts as if it were one. The only thing you can't do is pool hop--although IMHO they should make those two resorts "sister" resorts for pool hopping priveleges--but that's another thread. The view from the Polynesian is spectacular, and the grounds are gorgeous.
