Due to fiances we can only afford the std. view or garden view at the Deluxes. Which two would you pick for a split stay. This is our honeymoon.
I am thinking a resort from Epcot and MK. The AKL just doesn't interest us.
TIA!!!

The Boardwalk Inn has a very nice standard/garden view - we had a room looking out over the quiet pool & the whole area was very pretty. Even though it was quite a walk from the main lobby, you can access your room by a side door with your key by walking through the garden area. Being at the Boardwalk location is great with all of the restaurant/shops closeby, being able to walk into Epcot via the International Gateway, take a 10 minute boat ride to MGM, riding a surrey bike around the lake, visiting the YC/BC.

Another option would be the Swan/Dolphin in the Epcot area; great hotels & they often give upgrades. A lot of times, there will be discounts for AllEars readers (Deb Willis' site) or if you or your spouse are a teacher, nurse, or government worker, Florida resident, etc.., they offer great discounts!

Not sure what your budget actually is -- rooms in the category your talking vary greatly from Wilderness Lodge (the cheapest and also my favorite of the Deluxe resorts) to Grand Floridian. I always make this recommendation though -- check out the DVC rent/trade board and post what you're looking for if you're interested in going this route. The DVC one-bedrooms are the perfect room for a honeymoon, with a hot tub, king bed, kitchen and small sitting room. And they're available at some of the best Deluxe resorts -- Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club & Boardwalk.

You can find out how many points you'd need by checking here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resort/dvcpoint.cfm.

To help you understand the point structure, Fridays and Saturday "cost" more points than Sunday-Thursday nights. Old Key West costs the least amount of points, followed by Boardwalk, then Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club. I think a Boardwalk standard view would be the best bang for your buck.

I ran a 7-night stay in a Boardwalk Villas standard view one-bedroom for the week of October 2-9. That's 174 points. You can usually get points for $10 or $11 per point. That's $1,740 to $1,914. A Boardwalk Inn standard view room -- that's a basic room, no kitchen, no sitting room, NO HOT TUB! -- for the same dates is $2,294.67. And such is the value of renting DVC points.

If you have questions, post and I'll try to remember to check back.

HAPPY PLANNING! Creating the perfect wedding / honeymoon is the most fun I ever had planning a Disney vacation (can you tell by the length of my response)! If I had the points myself to rent to you, I would, but I'm a DVC member who always seems to be short on points!

I would recommend the Poly or Boardwalk if you can afford those. Do look into the Swan/Dolphin as they have some good deals. It often depends on when you are going. The CR garden wing rooms are very nice too, and often less expensive.
