DH and I had been planning on taking a WDW trip for our anniversary. We have decided not to take that trip, so we have a new plan.

We are both trying to lose weight and I need alot of incentive to do that. Last night he told me to set my goal, so I did. Then he told me that once I lose my first 25 pounds he will call our TA and book a trip. Then after 15 more pounds he will buy our plane tickets. Then he said if I lose 10 more he will spring for a deluxe upgrade

That may sound odd, but like I said, I need major incintives and motivation to get this baby weight off and I think that conversation just did it :teeth:

So what Deluxe do you suggest?

I think you should definitely stay at the YC/BC and enjoy the SAB and the Boardwalk next door!

My personal preference would be the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Have never stayed in a Deluxe, but that would be my choice.

However, I mainly wanted to offer your some encouragement for your weight loss plan. I recently made a "Lifestyle" change with regard to my eating habits that was fueled by finding out that I was diabetic. I could never loose more than a few pounds at a time in the past, then I would gain it plus a few more back. Since 1/13/05 I have lost 48 pounds. I never thought it would be possible, but with an "incentive" it can be done. (As a result of the weight loss and eating change i cut my blood sugar levels in half and now don't have to take any medication)

You CAN do it. :sunny: I would think that your Disney trip would definately be an incentive. Good Luck.

Hmmm....tough decision! For me it would be the Grand Floridian - especially with the convenience of the spa, which would be great on an "adult's only" trip. I can't imagine the Polynesian without children.

Have fun planning. I can't think of a better weight-loss incentive than a WDW vacation :flower:

Oh my goodness, there are lots of good choices!! I have heard the Boardwalk is great for couples-you would be close to a lot of nightlife and activities.

Good luck with your weight loss. :wizard: I know what it is like. I loss 50 pounds on WW a few years ago after slowly putting on weight after 3 kids. I'm so glad it worked.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I hope I can stick with it, Im thinking about putting pictures of all the deluxes up around the house...like on the cookie jar, just to remind myself.

Im going to do some research on the Epcot resorts...but DH thinks he wants a Monorail resort.

Even though I have never stayed there (eaten there only), I would vote for Grand Floridian.

Good Luck!

I say BWI too but I am partial, I love that resort. I think the theme of the rooms is very romantic and you can visit Epcot and MGM so quickly by foot or by boat. You also have Jellyrolls to enjoy and many fine dining experiences. Unless he is strictly an MK nut I bet he would love it here too. I liked YC too and Stormalong Bay was great too but I really liked the CM's, the mousekeeping, and pretty much everyone else we ran at BWI. It is truly my favorite of all the Epcot resorts.

We spent our wedding/honeymoon and 1st anniversary at the GF and I LOVE IT!!! We do not find it stuffy at all and it is absolutely beautiful. My hubby likes the fact that it is on the monorail. I cried when we pulled up to it last time and said, "Honey, we're home."

I would go with the Polynesian or Grand Floridian. :)
Good Luck that is awesome incentive! I may try to talk my DH into it.

I would not do the Poly - WAY WAY WAY too many kids there for an adults only trip - in my opinion.

I would most definately do Grand Floridian if you went with monorail

BWI or YC for an Epcot resort

Good Luck

I would pick Polynesian. How much more romantic can you get then the hammocks and swings on the beach? And you can walk over to TTC so you can catch the direct monorail to Epcot. And when will you go? Maybe you'll get one of the new rooms.

Last Jan I started rewarding myself $10Disney Dollars for every pound lost. I had $550Disney Dollars that I used to pay off my room when I checked in last Oct. I stopped WW at work due to a schedule conflict last September but I just rejoined and hope to loose another 20 pounds before our next trip.

Frances999 - We're staying at the Poly this Oct. You recommend Tahiti??

First of all - YOU CAN DO IT!! I had a facial at the GF Spa and my aesthetician had lost 50 pounds in the past 5 months. How did she do it? Cut her portions and started exercising! No pills, no strict diet :teeth:

I would recommend the Grand Floridian princess:
Make a dinner reservation at California Grill around 7:30pm :wizard:
Book a spa treatment (or two ;) ) at the GF Spa. Without the kids you can relax in the sauna, whirlpool, enjoy an amazing massage (I'd recommend requesting a MALE therapist ;) ) and E-N-J-O-Y :cloud9:

Spend some time on the GF beach and some time in the parks...
Have fun meeting your goal and planning your trip :cheer2:

Ok, I talked to DH, he wants to research and price the GF :) I think I want to check them all out lol.

And again, I appriciate all the encouragment. Im very excited and I really think I can do it this time.

My vote is for the Poly, great atmosphere at night, great view of the MK and CR at night. Dinner at Yachtmans steakhouse would be the perfect enhancement to your trip. I took DW there for our 36 anniversary and we love the steak, atmosphere and up scale dining. Plus a stroll around the Boardwalk and back entry to EPCOT a walk to the start of EPCOT and a monorail ride back to the Poly. Great resort!!

For a monorail resort I would vote GF otherwise I may pick the YC for its location near Epcot and the boardwalk.

Speaking from someone with absolutely no self control when it comes to snacks I found advice from Weight Watchers to be quite helpful. Write down what you eat (boy it adds up quick) and count every bite of every food even just the nibbles (they really add up). I followed WW to try to get myself to eat healthier (I didn't join just had the books and tracked points). Without a lot of effort I lost 20 lbs and was really only trying to be healthier. In my opinion WW makes it easier.

Good luck! But, do you really need to lose 50 pounds? You sure don't look it by your photo! You'll be as tiny as Tink when you go to WDW for your trip!:flower:

Oh my goodness thank you!! Right now my current weight is 213, and Im 5'5, so yeah I need to lose something. Under the advice from a good friend I have been talked into seeing my doc before I try 50 pounds. So I go in on Friday. Ya never know I could be going to WDW alot sooner if I dont have to lose 50 :rotfl: :cool1:

We have decided to price the GF, Poly and the BC. I want to stay at a deluxe really bad, but I just loved CSR, and now I cant decide :confused3 The up side is that I have plenty of time to check out pics and reviews :sunny:
