Love love love the YC:cheer2: Did not really care for the Poly.
Trying BWI for a quick January trip but still considering rebooking at YC instead.:confused3

I voted Wilderness Lodge because:

1. I like the Magic Kingdom resorts the best since I spend the most time there.

2. The Polynesian is too big.

3. The Contemporary tower rooms are too loud. And the garden rooms are too far.

4. The Grand Floridian is too posh.

5. The Wilderness Lodge is just right! :rotfl: I like that once you're in the building, you're in the building. Ahhh, a/c. Would be nice to be on the monorail but it's also nice to go directly somewhere without always trying to finagle the TTC transfer.

Well, uh, just to be argumentative (I like WL, too, but like Poly better)

1. Poly has much easier access to Magic Kingdom than WL.

2. Poly has 853 rooms. WL 728; however this doesn't include the Villas, which makes WL bigger.

5. Polynesian guests don't have to transfer at the TTC since guests have direct access to the TTC.

But if you prefer the WL, that's reason enough!

Well, just to continue in that argumentative vein ;) - When I read "The Poly is too big", I think of the physical size and layout of the resort, not the number of rooms. We thought the Poly was lovely, but I wouldn't want to walk from one of further-out rooms to the GCH every time I wanted to refill my mug, especially not at night in January! That's one of the things that won us over about Wilderness Lodge compared to the other MK resorts - no need to go outside for anything if the evenings are unpleasantly cool.

I have read several posts that say the Contemporary is loud, felt like an airport, etc. Are the garden rooms as loud as the tower rooms? Are the garden rooms miles away from the monorail stop? A few posts have also said that you can walk from the CR to the MK...true? How long of a walk is it? Just one post said that they also walked to Epcot from CR...true? Again, how long of a walk? I am also seeing that, to get to MK from CR, you have to go through the TTC...how big of a deal is this? Do you take one monorail to the TTC, then get on a different monorail to take you to MK? Do you have to do this for Epcot, too? We have stayed at POFQ twice and have LOVED it, but are considering staying at CR next time...any advice you can give is appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

I've stayed in all the deluxes except GF and CR. I voted for AKL. Its gorgeous, the restaurants are great, and the service is top notch.

I actually like that its farther out than the other resorts. At the end of the day its a great atmosphere in which to relax. The transportation is excellent because of the dedicated bus service.

I don't think CR is loud at all, to be honest. It is just perfect, and I always stay in summer too, so it shouldn't be too loud. Garden rooms are even quieter, it's just so peaceful, and the walk to the main tower is 2 minutes, if that. Very close proximity. To walk to EPCOT would be very hard, but the walk to MK is just 5 minutes away, if that. The monorail loop for the resorts runs in this order: CR-TTC-Poly-GF-MK. You can stay on for MK, but if you wanna go to EPCOT, you get off at TTC, and then there is a special monorail that only goe between TTC and EPCOT. That monorail ride is probably like 7-12 minutes. I would stay at CR. The views of Bay Lake and MK are great, and the monorail service is stunning. Even if you just missed a monorail, there is another one that will come within 5 minutes. You should give it a try if the price isn't too much for you :)

GF b/c it was very accomadating to our needs, it had great food, the monorail, the atmosphere was amazing, and it was the most relaxing resort I've ever stayed at.

For us it's a toss-up between the Poly & CR. DH & I stayed in the CR on our first trip to WDW in 1980 and it has special memories for us. Of course we've stayed there many times since. We've always had a high MK view room, so the view is fantastic! And we really like being on the monorail. After staying at the Poly last Christmas we were really impressed. Still on the monorail, but more of a feeling of seclusion from the hustle and bustle. The girls definitely like the Poly better, so that's where we're headed again this holiday.

I've been fortunate to have stayed at 5 of the 8, including the GF. It's definitely hard to choose since they are all nice in their own way. I love the Poly and its ambience. Especially the proximity to MK and that tiki bar.

Lately, though, we tend to make reservations at the BC (actually BCV, but I've done both and it's all the same to me). The resort is classy yet casual, the staff is great (love Art! :wave2: ), SAB is a lot of fun, and it's within walking distance to Epcot, our favorite park. :drinking1 So I voted for the BC - it tops my list!

My least favorite is the CR, but now I'm thinking I'd love to stay in one of their new rooms!

DH and I stayed at CR for our disneymoon, and I voted for it as the best. The best things: the monorail (just watching it is fun), the walk to MK and the amazing castle view out of window. *sigh* Can you tell I'm a princess at heart? he he he

...my vote?? The brother-and-sister-duo - AKL and WL.....

Four pages of responses and not one comment from the original poster :rolleyes1 Personally the deluxe producing the greatest advantage or satisfaction...is a state of mind and personal preference. I believe the turn-over level for hotel and restaurants is normally way over 100%, so the people you see this year won't even be there next year, with a few exceptions creating your very samll long-term employee base.
