Which deck?

I'm looking at Category 4 rooms (A,B,C, and D) on the Dream and trying to decide which deck we would prefer. The prices (at this point) are so close to one another that the cost is a non-issue. It looks like we could stay anywhere from Deck 6 through 10. I'm thinking 10 might be too noisy with the pool deck right above?

Are there differences with the balconies? We've stayed on Deck 7 on the Wonder a few times and really liked how close it was to the pool deck (just 2 flights of stairs) but the Dream looks so much larger. I'd appreciate any advice!

We stayed on seven on the dream and decided to move up to deck eight on the fantasy:). We took the stairs a lot and it was easy to go down but getting up to deck 11 for the pool was a bit if a haul, so we decided to go one closer:)

We stayed on 9 on the Dream in order to not be under the main deck but still able to get a large stateroom. We always get a 4 a. The Dream is much bigger. Be prepared for lots of walking, seems endless at times to get from one end of ship to the other compared to the smaller ships.

Thanks for the quick replies. Since the Dream is so much larger and taller, did you feel more rocking up there on 9?

I get very sea sick and I was fine on deck 9. Didn't feel any rocking

Dream isn't bigger then the Fantasy....Actually Fantasy is about a foot bigger then the Dream. Beautiful ship and smooth sailing! Unless there is a disturbance that create rough seas you won't even know your on the ship or moving after the first night!

We've been on decks 2, 8 and 9 on Dream class ships. Deck 8 was my favorite because we can take the stairs up or down to get where we need to go. The only time we took the elevator was after dinners at Enchanted Garden and wife and daughter were in heels. Also, we felt no rocking at all on 8 or 9, we had really rough seas when we where on deck 2 and felt a lot, but we were also in between a hurricane and a tropical depression. Just my $.02

We stayed on Deck 7 of the Fantasy, and I really liked how it was equal distance to the entertainment/food of Deck 3/4 and the pool deck on Deck 11. Helped us work off all those ice cream cones! If anything I would pay more attention to where your family tends to spend their time in terms of forward vs aft of the ship - our room was forward and the loooooooong trek to Cabanas every morning seemed more annoying (for lack of a better term) than climbing stairs - my .02.

Deck 10 if you want shade on your balcony most of the time. This is due to the overhang from the deck above.
Decks-8-9 are probably key because you can still easily walk up to the pool deck and you can have a 4a room which is very large, and a buffer from the potential of pool deck noise. Decks 6-7 are closer to the kids clubs if that is a priority for you.

Thanks, everyone. It sounds like 8 or 9 would be the best for us. I'm very sensitive to the rocking of the boat (and I do use the patch) but did fine on Deck 7 on the Wonder. We are done with the Kids Clubs, and prefer to stay in the center of the ship (again for the rocking).

I've stayed on deck 6 mid-ship twice and liked it. We're trying deck 7 on the Fantasy next month. :)

Where are you getting this from? They were built with the same plans.
Specs on the boat length I think literally is approx 3 feet longer you can google it but on our tour on our last cruise we were told difference is fantasy is about a foot bigger and the differences are the decorating style and a bit of upgrade in technology. They are sister ships but not twins. Came from whoever it was that took us on our tour that works for DCL blonde haired gay guy and I can't remember his name and I actaully googled the lengths to confirm I wasn't telling you something wrong.

Everything I can find about the Dream & Fantasy says both ships are 1,115 long and 125 wide.

Can you give me a link to a site that states they are different sizes?

Sure thing how do I copy it from an iPad im the worst techy person everrrr....
But fyi if you google Disney Fantasy Specs the wiki pulls up and says a different length from the Dreams wiki. But your absolutely right from what you read I found more then one article that says they were built from the same blue print but then I found another saying not.... so I don't know what to believe but a dcl cm did tell us on our tour its a foot bigger and art nouveau and the technology upgrades and that they are sister ships but not twins. that I'm sure of. So maybe ask a dcl staff member because I'm questioning myself now, can't really believe everything that is on the Internet but which info is wrong? Sorry if I confused you

Yeah, I with you. This place says one thing, another place says another. I can only point out that anyone can make a Wikipedia entry (and anyone can edit it). There's really no real authority there.

I know when we took our Fantasy tour, the guide tried real hard to "prove" the Fantasy outshines her sister the Dream, in all aspects. So, maybe, there's a bit of embellishment going on there.

Oh, and sorry, I don't know how to post a link with/on an iPad. I'm not real tech savvy, either.
