Which days to visit around New Years?

We'll be in LA from Dec. 29-Jan 5 and plan to visit the Disneyland Resort 3 of those days (not necessarily consecutive). I know the whole week will likely be crowded, but does anyone have recommendations of days within that week that might be better than others?

I assume NYE will likely be nuts, is New Years Day better because people are sleeping in? Or is it still crazy?

The week between Christmas and NYE is historically the busiest of all year. NY Day will still be busy as it is a Holiday but it is lighter in the AM and busier in the evening. I would do the days after NYE as most re back to normal life Jan 2nd as that is mid week this year.

I vote for going after New Year's as well. Myself, DH, DS 14 and DD 8 were at the parks last Dec 28 - Jan 1. It was nuts! Even knowing that it would be busy and having spent time at WDW around the same time a few years ago, it was amazing how crazy it actually was. Thank goodness for Max Pass! Our son asked why we would do something as stupid as visiting at this time of year?!? (Teenagers) He did end up having a good time and some of the things we did are some of his favorite memories. It was something I am happy to have done, but will never do again. Enjoy your time at the parks!

I vote for the last three days, unless you can’t stay till close on the 5th... then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th... for all the reasons already mentioned.

I agree. Go after New Years Day. All passes except the highest level are still blocked out that whole week. We have gone several times in those first few days of January before and it was busy but manageable- definitely better than the week between Christmas and New Years.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I know park hours are long, so I was debating splitting up our 3 days over the week so we could better do both early mornings and late nights. But perhaps just grouping the 3 days at the end of the week would be better.
