Which day to rope drop at HS?

I have two mornings already FP at Hollywood Studios; October 27th and 29th. Toy Story Land is the only reason that we would line up 1 hour before the park opens at 9. October 27th is a normal opening day. October 29th is an Early Morning Magic day. It would seem logical to me to choose the 27th because on the 29th, there are going to be thousands already in the park since 7:30 from EMM. Am I wrong to assume this.

Yes

EMM does not draw "thousands". It's a very limited event and should have no impact on RD (assuming, of course, that it works the same as it does at MK).

I would think that the TSL EMM would not have an impact on your TSL rope drop plans as the people there for EMM will be more than likely leaving that area or have already left. But possibly the EMM crowd might impact any rope drop plans to hit Tower or R/R Coaster. Maybe wait until the first reports come in on TSL EMM before switching up your FP or changing your plans??

The EMM people will probably be eating the included breakfast at 9 am so I wouldn't worry about it at all.

EMM is a very limited number of tickets sold on any given day. Since this has not been done at TSL, nobody knows how many tickets this will be.
I would pick whichever day works better into your schedule. Probably not going to be a huge difference in crowd size either day.

EMM is only around 200 people, not thousands. EMM ticketed events don't affect rope drop crowds

EMH is thousands and does affect rope drop

I avoid emh as I stay off site, then choose my park from there. Day of the week doesn't matter

I didn’t realize that Disney only sold 200 tickets for EMM. All things being equal, I’ll probably go on Saturday October 27 because we will be going to MNSSHP on October 28 and it would be hard to get up by 9, let alone getting to HS by 8.
