We have two options and just wondering if anyone has thoughts on which one would tend to be less busy (anyone have a craystal ball??)...either Sept. 14-16 or Oct. 10-13. Our friends went the Sept weekend last year and said it was very crowded and other friends of ours said the Oct dates are during Arizona fall break which can get busy as well. Touring plans shows the Sept dates as a 5-ish and Oct dates as 1-2ish so neither one appears to be too bad, but just want to make sure I'm not missing something! :-) TIA!

Well if you go during those October dates, you'll have an extra weekday, which should be less crowded than a weekend. Plus that weekend in September will be the first weekend of "Halloweentime", which might add some extra crowds. The October dates, however, will also include a Mickey's Halloween Party, which will close Disneyland early on Friday for the special ticketed event.

Either way, the crowd levels won't be incredibly high, but don't expect an empty park at all. Expect the lines for major attractions (Space, Matterhorn, Soarin, ToT) to be 45-60 min during the middle of the day and about 30 min during mornings and evenings.

And as much as Touring Plans is very reliable for WDW, their numbers don't really hold any credibility when it comes to DLR.

Do you have tickets? If you don't, you can get discounted ones with the Gay Days rates if you go in October. The valid dates are Oct 3-16. Here is the link.

the gay days site says buying the tickets it is only for the attendees and their guests. Will this work for those who are not attending the gay convention?

Basically there is no separate Gay Days activities at DL...they just offer a discounted rate to groups who will bring in X amount of business, with limited dates that you can use them. So yes, you can still use them, they don't ask for id or anything;) The links have been shared for the Gay Days rates for some time. You will not get magica morning with these tickets.
