Which date would you choose for 2018?? TSL Crowds?

So my husband got his new contract (college teacher) for next year and he's done work earlier than we thought, which has opened up a new possible date. So considering weather, crowds and the possibility that TSL could open mid-May, which date would you choose?

(And side-question, what sort of impact do you realistically see TSL opening having on crowds? Will it affect all parks overall, or just HS?)

Option 1: June 16-27
Option 2: August 8-19

I have been both of those months and around the same time as you posted. I would probably choose June 16-27. Although we went the very last week in June and this year we are going in August again we arrive the 11th. To me both trips were about the same with crowds and weather. Both months were hot and humid, I think August was a little more humid than June though. Every afternoon both had some rain storms but August's storms seemed to be have a little more rain. They only lasted about an hour for both months so it wasn't to bad. The kind of storms that hit and miss where it will rain at MK but not Epcot.
The main reason we will be going in August this year is because there are several good discount during that time We got an awesome deal on the Polynesian.

We stay off-site so we're lucky I guess in that cost isn't a factor in when we go. Our first trip was June 24-July 4. And honestly the first week really wasn't too bad at all, we found crowds very manageable, but we definitely noticed a big increase in crowds by July 1st, and we wanted to avoid that again.

The farther you get into August the crowds start to dwindle down. Crowds were manageable both trips but MK was always crowded it seemed. I think if the TSL opens and with Pandora opening it may help spread crowds around.

Yes, that's what I've heard, too. Our problem with August is a) we drive from Canada so we need 3 days to get home and b) my husband wants some time off to recuperate from the trip, before heading back to work. So, the absolute latest we could leave for home would be August 19th, and he would prefer the 17th so he could have a full week off. So, we really wouldn't get all that much benefit from the lower crowd period I don't think? But maybe it would still be better than June...

Both are after the current projected opening for TSL. Personally I don't think TSL will have nearly the Impact something like SWL will. Late May is the current projected TSL opening.

Well that's good (not as much impact on crowds). Thats what I was hoping lol.
