is there a better card to use...amex or visa or does it just depend on your own policy? I remember if you used a certain card the extra rental insurance wasn't needed...any suggestions

Most do but you need to check the individual card rules. I would call the customer service # on your card. You should also check with your auto insurance agent or company.

We have the Chase Disney Visa and it covers car rentals above what your auto insurance does.

Your regular auto policy should cover rentals, so check that. As suggested, you need to look at the terms for your cards to see which one provides the best coverage.

Our car insurance would cover the car, but it doesn't cover "lose of use." We use the VISA to get that coverage, our MasterCard doesn't have it.
Like everyone said though, check with your company.
