Which confirmation number do I need to make ADRs?

Hi everyone!

First, thanks for all the great advice I have been reading (lurking) for months. It has been such helpful information.

I will be traveling July 1-7 with my family of 4 (hubby and 2 kids) as well as my parents and brother and sister-in-law. My parents are taking us all on the trip and we all have separate rooms at BCV- as a result, each family has different conf numbers for our rooms and we also have a grand gathering #.

Which numbers do I need when I make the ADRs? All of them? Only mine? All of our TS meals will be for all 8 of us-- any tips on that? Are larger # ADRs more difficult to get?

none- you dont need any numbers, anyone can make ADR whether resort guest or not. They will ask if you are staying onsite so they have a contact number, but if not they ask for a phone #.
I had an easier time getting a table for 6 or more then when I needed 4- someplaces tell you no to smaller numbers(I havent figured out why)

If you want to take advantage of the 90+10 for people staying on site then you do need your reservation number. I believe either of numbers should work.

If you are going the 90+10 you will need to provide your reservation number and the CM will be able to see which dining plan you are on. If you book certain restaurants they will still need a CC number even if you are on the dining plan -- restaurants such as Askerhus (sp?), Cinderella's Table, Hoop De Doo Musical Revue, etc.

for which they will ask a credit card number even if you are on the DDP. These are for times when you are a no show or do not cancel on time. For example, they will ask for a CC number for CRT but will (should) not charge your card like they normally do.

Credit card numbers are not required for ADRs at most restaurants.

On Thursday morning I will make sure I have a CC, all 3 conf numbers and our grand gathering number!

We're a party of 8 arriving on June 28th and have two different reservation numbers. You only need one of them and you definitely don't need your Magical Gathering number to make ADR's.

I was able to make all of my ADR's, with the exception of 4th of July at Narcoossee's. You may need to be a little flexible. For instance, I had to switch the date we wanted Mama Melrose in order to get the Fantasmic dinner package. (You'll need your CC for this.) I also needed to switch the date for Le Cellier so we could get a dinner reservation instead of lunch.

With some of the locations, they said we may need to be at different tables but they'll do their best to seat us together.

All in all, it worked out very well. As far as Narcoossee's, that restaurant requires you call them directly when you have a large party. I called, left a message and last night they contacted me. I was able to get us two tables at 7:45. (For large parties, they only guarantee being seated together if you book an early reservation.) That will be our last night so who knows if we'll even want to be at the same table at that point.

As Regina mentioned, you might be told that your party of eight will be at two different tables but don't concern yourself with that. Since you are making the seating for a total of eight people, your tables will be "linked" together in the system.
