and if I have the time, the epic eight and a half hour Royal Shakespeare Company stage version of Charles Dickens' "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby" (1982), starring Roger Rees (best known from Cheers and The West Wing). It's classic Dickens, incredible acting and stagecraft, and the ending is set at Christmastime! When it debuted on Broadway in 1981 it commanded the then-unheard-of ticket price of $100. Those who saw it called it the greatest theatrical experience they ever had, and said that it was worth every cent and that the eight and half hours felt like five minutes. I've seen other productions live and can say that the last part is definitely true.
